"We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. When we arrived for our reservation, the host—who turned out to be the owner or manager—said that our reservation was marked as "open table." He was quite rude, even going so far as to suggest that we should make our reservation on OpenTable. He mentioned that they had been trying to take a break for months and that our reservation was causing them problems. He claimed they were unaware of our reservation and would "try" to seat us soon. He also implied that I should have reached out to confirm our reservation. This was especially upsetting since it was my birthday dinner, and I felt embarrassed by the whole situation. We ended up leaving without dining there, which was disappointing as we have never had a negative experience when using OpenTable before. Needless to say, we will continue to use OpenTable but will not be returning to Matsutake."

Very good. The experience is exactly what we expected due to previous visits to Matsutaki. The chef was great, however this time the waitress seemed to be off her game.

Feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable at the situation, especially since it was my husband’s birthday dinner, we decided to leave. We have never faced issues with Open Table before, so this incident was particularly disappointing. As a result, we will continue to use Open Table in the future but will not be returning to Matsutake.
