"We have been going to this restaurant for a long time. It has become a favorite of my husband's the last ten years we have been visiting the Manchester area when we ski. It is a lovely and quite expensive French restaurant. The menu seems to have not changed in years. We went with our teen daughter, our college age son and his friend. We all made the mistake of arriving very hungry after a long day skiing. The waiter, who was cordial but not overly friendly, was efficient enough but did not check on us to see how we were doing once our meal arrived. The kids were starving so had to keep asking for dinner rolls. My son asked for one and instead of asking the rest of the table, the waiter brought one single roll for my son. We all laughed about it and waited for dinner. The portions are very small, so the kids had to continue asking for single rolls to feel satisfied. It became a joke between us over the evening. They got a slice of pizza in town afterward. My son was trying to be helpful when the waiter cleared the table and lifted his plate to assist. He was told in a clipped tone by the waiter that he would come to my son's place for his plate. I felt for my son for a minute because he seemed a little embarrassed, but then quickly realized it was the snooty waiter that should feel embarrassed with his condescending tone. I can only assume that the aloof and rude waiter and the tiny portions are all part of the stereotypical French restaurant experience. I guess I will go back because my husband has nostalgic feelings about all our years visiting this restaurant, but I will definitely try to steer him in another direction next time."

We had our son and daughter-in-law?s rehearsal dinner there, almost 4 years ago. People are still telling me it was the best meal they ever had. Beautiful venue, lovely staff, divine menu!! A perfect evening.

We’ve been here several time a and have never been disappointed. The food is very good and they have one of the best wine lists in southern Vermont. The leon chicken and rice was to die for. Best soup I've ever had in my life! Food was perfect. Served you just enough. Pomegranate martini was decent. The view was incredible! I've dined annually at Mistrals for more than 25 years. The reason I keep returning is that a more enjoyable meal cannot be had in the area. The combination of Chef Dana's kitchen, the extensive wine list, and Cheryl's delightful hospitality, added to the incomparable atmosphere, make every one of the numerous meals I've had there unforgettable. My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Mistral's in 1989. We continued to go almost yearly and sometimes twice a year.we have always had a wonderful time and the food is the absolute best we compare all of our fine dining to Mistral's which is probably unfair. Now that we live in North Carolina we aren't able to get back to Vermont to dine at our favorite restaurant as much but when we are in the north east we make it a point to go.
