"Stopped in on a busy Saturday night. Very quaint establishment with the bar area downstairs and dining upstairs. They were very busy in the bar area when we arrived and about half full with diners. The place has a barn like look to the facing out front and tastefully decorated inside. Plenty to choose from on the menu I decided on the beef tips with baked potato and my wife the ribs. The salads were good, but nothing special. The entrees were. Beef tips excellent served with mushrooms and small sweet onions in a beefy glaze. My wife raved about the ribs so I had to try one. I had two. I wanted more. They were excellent, maybe the best I ever had. Certainly right up there, very tender with a smoked flavor. Deserts looked good but no room. Service was non-descript which is often appreciated. You know they're doing their job when you don't really notice them. The bar when we left was even more full. A pork chop in every bottle they say. I hesitate with 5 stars since the salads were just OK and I didn't have skates with me for the parking lot but a solid 4 stars. I will be back, if I'm ever back in the area. Which I hope to be."

"This place has been going since 40s, Joel Elvrum (owner) is keeping the tradition going and has in my opinion even stepped it up a notch!! He now has a nice selection of wines to enhance your dining experience along with a nice selection of tap beers and infused vodkas in their entry level . You can dine on two different levels and room enough to bring large parties to join you He and his most friendly staff will accommodate you however you please. Goose Hunters, Fishmen, and friends and family will enjoy this renowned establishment. Keep up the Great Tradition. My kudos to all . Having been in the restaurant business for over 45 years I found this to excel! 5 Parking: Has plenty of room and needs it as the Ranch keeps packing them in!"

"I'd go somewhere else. first someone should point to the cook that tortilla soup tortillas has in it. it is not a cream of chicken soup with five stale tostadas on the side of the plate. I chose the baked pork chop. the velvet, although fat, was boiled exactly right, although it was hard to say among all the greasy gray engraving on it. the sweet that came with the plate, frozen carrots with a small honey or sugar were not bad, but not well prepared. the special came also with a small salat from late in the day packed salat mix, and one of these yeasts they in the cafeteria in the school. "I am not one to write a bad review about a place of previous employment. I do understand that I don't need to continue to come here however my family rather enjoys this restaurant very much. I just have to say the service could have been a lot better. Just because one waitress has a problem with a customer all the waitresses have to follow her lead so it tends to lead to poor service. It's not fair that just because one person is disliked that the entire party has to suffer for it. I do understand this. It's just saddening that it has come to this."
