"This is a fantastic spot for comfort food! The staff was clearly stretched thin, with only one cashier and one cook, both of whom were working tirelessly without a break. The atmosphere is charming and cheerful, and you can really sense that the food brings joy to the customers. The dishes were incredible; even though I'm not a fan of that particular type of gravy, I found it surprisingly tasty. My favorite was definitely the peach dumpling - it was delicious and felt like it was made with care. Whenever we pass through this area, we will likely make a stop to eat here again!"

We stopped here on our way through town. Nicest folks I've met in a small cafe in a long time. Everyone enjoyed all of the food that was ordered and I especially loved the fried chicken. I'm a southern guy and have had my fair share of bad, mediocre and good chicken throughout the United Sates. By far, this place was by far one of the best fried chicken meals I've ever had.

We stopped for lunch while passing through Snyder, and it turned out to be the best decision! The restaurant was busy, so we had to wait a moment for a table to be cleared. When our chicken fried steak arrived, it was absolutely perfect—so tender that a knife wasn’t even necessary! The side dishes were equally delightful, with each one perfectly seasoned; we didn’t even feel the need to add salt or pepper. The staff was friendly and approachable, making us feel very welcome during our visit. Visualizza piatti

The food was great, not overly seasoned. The banana pudding was awesome, fluffy and airy. Didn't get to try some of the sides I wanted, but really showed up too close to closing, will have to try again another day. The breading on the smothered steak was nice and thin, which I like, rather than the thick over-floured that you would find most places. I did see some nice looking salads at other tables that I might have to try next time around. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Smothered Steak

"My wife and I were in town and decided to have dinner at The Butcher Block. On the website it said they were open until 10, when we arrived at 8 there was a sign on the door that read they were closing at 9. That being said the service was still excellent and we never felt rushed. We ordered cheese curds for an appetizer, they arrived quickly and tasted great. My wife ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl for her dinner and I ordered chicken fried steak with a side salad. The side salad was a bowl of lettuce with three slices of tomatoes on it so nothing special. The chicken fried steak however was massive and tasted great! The steak fries were ok. Overall for roughly $17 it was worth the price. My wife's meal was a different story. First let me say the portion was huge but quantity isn't always everything. She ordered teriyaki but this dish had heat, as in spice, and I've never known teriyaki to have this kind of heat. The vegetables were crunchy and not seasoned. For $22 it just didn't feel that she got what she ordered. She still ate what she could as the chicken had good flavor, just to much heat. Then for dessert we split a slice of Pina colada cheesecake and it was delicious! Overall the experience was a good one. The server was great. She was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance of the place was very nice. It felt like this was probably the nicest place in town. I'm glad we tried this place while we were in town but I think maybe if the teriyaki is that spicy they should put that on the menu for the folks that don't want spicy.
