Ate vegetable biriyani. Tasted very bad. Poor service. Only a few places place I have given

the aromen were beautiful. we were happy with everything we ordered. many vegan options marked clearly on the menu and special card. I would come back often if we were local. service was great.

I had the chana masala and a lemon. It was perfect - rich in flavor, perfectly seasoned, and a generous portion. I left feeling satisfied but not overly full, with a happy and content heart. I highly recommend it, especially for vegans as there are plenty of options available.

This restaurant in Anchorage is my go-to spot for vegan dining. The staff understands what vegan means and their vegan thali, while on the pricier side, is absolutely delicious! While there isn't a separate vegan menu, they can easily customize options from the vegetarian section with a star next to them. I highly recommend the aloo govi and Shangri-la stamp dishes, as they are bursting with flavor!

I live in North County San Diego and complain that there are no good Indian restaurants there. My wife and I occasionally drive all the way to Artesia (little India) for good food and we love the different flavors. I thought that Indian food in Anchorage would be overly sweet Americanized Indian food, so I didn't have high hopes. Boy, was I wrong. This place is a gem. I love that they can only sit on the side for a very reasonable price, which made the meal much more fun. we visit from the city and have with others who are unfamiliar with this regional cuisine, but the selection of sauces let us all try a lot of different flavors. I also have to mention that the portion sizes are absolutely what alaska needs. also fantastic service in this family-run business. the best buck in anchorage.

Look for the section on the menu that lists the Thalies. The Vegan Thali has three listed vegan entrée choices along with some additional vegan nom noms included. You don't have to order the Thali to eat vegan, but it lists the vegan entrées without having to ask the server. The vegetable momo is not vegan unfortunately. The vegetable pakoras are vegan and are amazing. Another nice thing is that you can tell the server how hot you want your meal from mild to hot. The daal soup is very good too.

We found Namaste Shangri-la on Groupon, and what a find! We arrived apprehensive, and upon reviewing the menu and asking questions of the host, we very fortunately decided to stay. We ordered so much food that was all delicious, that wehad lots leftover. The host answered lots of questions about vegan options, and was expert in informing us about the menu. There is a vegetarian section of the menu that can be requested to be made vegan. There is also, marked on the menu, the Vegan Thali, which we ordered. It was a huge assortment of dal, white jasmine rice, and a choice of several vegetable dishes. We chose the okra special as well as veganized versions of vegetable dinners. We also ordered...
