"This was my first visit to Nicola. I think there are quite a few excellent classic Italian restaurants in Columbus. I felt I was getting nickel and dimed. I feel paying for bread is a little much in an Italian restaurant in Columbus. The food was good, but the menu is a little limited. Our service was good and because we needed five checks an additional charge was supposed to be added to our bill. Our waiter said he didn't do that which I felt was very nice. I guess you might say everything was good, but certainly not at the level I read about in the reviews."

The sea bass with squash ravioli pasta was spectacular. Service was attentive but not cloying. The calamari appetizer had excellent flavor and the presentation was well done.

Nicola is a very classy restaurant, but falls short of its menu items. The lack of fish, other than a whole Bronzino, is serious shortcoming. The noise level is much too loud. This could be corrected with a little ingenuity.

Nicola is consistently outstanding. The food is authentic and wonderful, and the service is outstanding. Customers are treated like family. This is the best Italian in Columbus. I recommend the tagliatelle with mushrooms or any of the chef’s pastas with his bolognese sauce...but really everything on the menu is excellent
