"So happy that Emma's has opened! I love good coffee, but really enjoy a top notch speciality coffee or smoothie sometimes and the opportunity to sit, relax, and enjoy a coffeehouse atmosphere. Emma's fulfills on all accounts. So far, I've only tried the pumpkin spice latte I'll definitely be back again to try other drinks. And oh yes, the price is perfect for these delectable items. "Rachel’s is a beautiful restaurant in quaint bad axe. The drinks were on point, the brussel sprouts were awesome, and the service was good. However, this restaurant presents itself as a finer dining establishment and the prices reflect that. But, the food did not rise to the occasion. The owner’s daughter was proud to defend the “hand cut” calamari that looked like French fries and seemed offended when I told her calamari doesn’t come in blocks, she called a steak. If it doesn’t look like it can swim in the ocean something is wrong and the texture reflected that. We had the white fish, salmon, and chicken and all of the protein was overcooked and under seasoned. The rice was not cooked that day. The creamy salmon soup was under seasoned, vegetables slightly undercooked, and the sauce was partially broken. The food is presented nicely, but does not live up to the prices being charged. At this price range your food needs to be on point and you can’t serve me stuff out of a bag and try to defend it as fresh. This place has a ton of potential. Hopefully the owners are listening. Until then, I will not return."

"My family and I moved to the bad axe area about a year ago and we've tried just about every restaurant in the area. Needless to say this is the first review I've felt compelled to write (good or bad). I heard from a few people that this place was not worth the money, however, this is a definite understatement. 1 out of the 5 entrees we had was descent, everything else was sub par at best. I ordered the steak sandwich that was supposed to be prepared with sliced sirloin steak, however, it was definitely roast beef (good, but definitely not a sliced sirloin steak as the menu described and most likely gordon food purchased). My wife ordered a filet medium rare and it came out after the rest of the food hit the table. It did not have any grill/searing marks on it as my mother in laws NY strip did, and tasted like the cook likely microwaved it (tough, not juicy, as a medium rare filet should be). My sons burger was terrible, appeared to be a pre-pattied burger not fresh, and my other son's chicken fingers were definitely a frozen brand, edible but nothing special. The steak fries the boys both received were inedible, they were definitely a store bought fry and I believe they were microwaved or not fried long enough because they were still cold in the middle. Our server was very nice, but not knowledgeable at all about the drink menu, she was 17 and could not make any drink recommendations. The atmosphere of this place is nice, but clearly there is no active management overseeing the operation. Service and food quality control are non-existent. I understand that all restaurants have off nights, but this place had major breakdowns on all aspects of their business. Definitely not a 4.2 restaurant as it states on Google reviews."

"PLEASE EAT HERE! The food was amazing. I’ve eaten a lot of Mexican food in my life and this is excellent. The best you can get in Huron county and comparable to other authentic Mexican cuisine in larger cities as well. The service was a bit shakey and unorganized but this is to be expected with a new restaurant. The chips were fresh and came out warm served with EXCELLENT fresh homemade salsa. Not from a jar. Queso was also fresh and housemade and excellent. I tried their Fajita Quesadilla and my boyfriend had a burrito. We were both very pleased and ate everything on our plate. The only sad part was that we couldn’t get the deep fried ice cream due to the fact that the ice cream was still freezing. We will be back soon to try it though! Also can’t wait to try their margaritas in the future 10 out of 10 would recommend."
