"Really loved this place for a while, came a few times and was obsessed with the chicken parmesan (sauce is out of this world good). I did find that depending on the chef, sometimes it was better than others. The last time I went though, I was served raw chicken.... TWICE. The first time I took a good couple of bites before realizing the texture of the chicken was off. Upon further inspection I realized that the cutlet was completely raw inside. I let the waitress know, and the apologized and offered to have the kitchen remake it. I was really hungry and looking forward to my favorite dish, so I agreed. The second time my dish came out, the chicken seemed okay and I gave the waitress the all clear, until I got to the middle of the cutlet which was once again raw. I sent the dish back, and the waitress apologized again and again. I opted to just have it removed from the bill and left without eating dinner. As having worked in plenty of restaurants in the past, I was really upset no one informed the manager. I've worked in restaurants in the past that would comp a patrons whole meal for complaining the French fries were cut too thick this was not what I was looking for, but for management to not speak with a customer who was served a raw dish twice in the same night... that to me is just unacceptable. I'm hoping at this point the cook was at least trained on how long to cook a chicken cutlet and to use a meat thermometer if they're not certain. ‍"

"Update: 3/16 This place continues to be a catastrophe. It has finally made me speechless. How an operation, as bad as this, continues to get worse and worse is truly amazing. Original Review Where do I start with this hole in the Earth? I am a working professional and honorable veteran. I am not some out of work, out of shape, old crusty human being. I come here once every week and order two value meals and maybe desserts. Never, and I mean never, can this place handle the order EVERY SINGLE TIME I AM SENT TO PARK THE CAR AND WAIT. It 's surreal, really. It does not matter what day it is or what time of day. This has been going on for more than a year (when I moved nearby). I always keep my mouth shut but today was the final straw. Monday afternoon. No cars in the parking lot. Simple order. And, of course I am sent to a parking space. Then, despite a very polite request that was politely confirmed with the lovely smile of the young associate, EVERYTHING IS WRONG AND/OR AWFUL! Coke is flat and very strange tasting Big Mac has more sauce on it than it does anything else McFlurry (M M) is 2/3rd full and ice cream is sour tasting As mentioned above, I politely requested extra sauces for the nuggets and extra ketchups for my fries and I received ONE SAUCE FOR THE NUGGETS AND NO KETHCUP. I was told they were waiting on my fries (fries were NOT hot and dowsed with salt) I received Spicy Nuggets but did not order them (I 'm allergic to most ingredients found in spicy foods) So, now, here I am AFTER SPENDING 31 of money I work so hard for, sitting in my living room eating a disgusting meal. We all know this is ultimately a problem at the corporate level. But enough is enough the Manager at this store working at 3 P.M. on Monday 2/12/24 needs to be terminated instantly. Furthermore, I would terminate the entire staff. Have the incoming manager open the filing cabinet and start interviewing. Lastly any and every new staff member should be hired on a probationary period. If you cannot fulfill a McDonald 's order and prevent ONE QUARTER of the issues aforementioned while on shift and receiving a paycheck then you deserve a well fare check (AND NOTHING MORE). Absurd. I just spent 31 f* #g dollars. P.S. Most days the parking lot smells like garbage from the dumpsters. UPDATE: DO NOT EAT HERE TODAY (2/12/24) EVERYTHING TASTES TAINTED (FRIES, MEAT, SODA, ICE CREAM) CALLING REGIONAL OFFICE DIRECT."

"I'm torn about doing this review, because I really wanted to be able to say I finally found a black owned spot I can actually count on, but I ended up having to throw $30 of food out because I just couldn't eat it and they didn't give me all I asked for. The customer service was great which gave me high hopes, but the food? TUH... Ordered a coconut shrimp w/ black rice, green plantains, and a side of black beans sauce. Not what I originally came for but they didn't have what I ordered (even though it was on the menu). Firstly it says online you can place a reservation to dine in. Ummm... WHERE? Is it behind the kitchen, Because I walked in and found no dining tables just counter space against the walls with a few chairs. The place IS NOT big enough to come dine in, but I digress... When they didn't have what I originally ordered I settled on the coconut shrimp, which was way too sweet and sitting on top of lettuce in the same container they put the HOT rice. Fair to say the lettuce was not eaten because it was soggy and hot. No dressing provided anyways. The person taking my order said they had black rice so I opted for that and when asked was told it came with sauce. I got neither. They gave me brown rice and beans and there was no sauce. Who eats rice dry??? I tried... The rice, though HOT, tasted like it was on the brink of spoiling and it was clear they scraped it from the bottom of the pot, because why is gratin in my $30 plate. I didn't ask for that. The green plantains I asked for was ignored and I was given barely done sweet plantains dripping in HOT grease. And the black beans sauce I asked for on the side was crazy salty. I get sometimes a thing or two being off. There's grace for that, but this was worse than that for me. And this day I was HUNGRY and craving. Ruined my night. As expensive as dining out is, I won't second chance this spot, because I have no confidence that I won't have to throw out my plate again."

"Update 11/10/2019: Earlier this year, I had a face to face chat with Tania who is the co-owner of the restaurant along with her husband. It was regarding the review I wrote that I am now updating with that conversation in mind as well as knowing she will read this. I do live in Hyde Park where this restaurant is located on that note too. To the owner: Our conversation is why I upgraded the rating to 4 stars but in the subsequent visits since then, I saw no reason to make it 5 stars and more so since my favorite menu item Pastrami sub) was discontinued. For everyone else: This restaurant has no affiliation with the similarly named River St. Grille on the other end of River St. As noted above, if you want to speak to the owner or her husband Jose you need only ask. One or both would be happy to addresss any concerns or problems with your order. The menu boasts your staple American and Italian comfort foods but starting about five years ago, they started adding more things to the menu. Each year a few new items were added to the menu since then and every now and then they do have special deals on select menu items to draw in customers. One thing I have noticed in few Hyde Park Neighborhood Facebook groups as well as in some of the reviews here is to customers, there isn't a problem until they personally have a problem and then it's the worst place ever. Like I said above, ask to speak to the owner if there is a problem with your order. At least one of them if not both is always there at any given time. I have sampled almost everything they have to offer and in some cases, more than a few times. I'm not sold on the pizzas personally and I have tried quite a few. It's more personal preference than anything else. The subs are good to great hot and cold. The meat is generous so if you want to taste something other than meat between the bread, be sure to say so. I would put their subs ahead of Cappy's down the street on the corner of Fairmount Ave. and Truman Parkway) hands down because of the portions alone. The dinners are a bit of a mixed bag overall. The portions across the board are fine but the quality for price is another matter entirely. I have sampled almost all them personally. The chicken wings are obviously fresh wings and hand-breaded before they're fried. My favorite dessert items are the Cheesecake with strawberry topping .50 Cents Exrta for the strawberry topping) and Tres Leches which is clearly made in house). That's it for food. Now on to service. 95% of the time I dine in at the restaurant. The handful of times I ordered delivery, I received my order within an hour. Everything is cooked or made to order. Nothing is prepped in advance and this is why things take a while. It's NOT a fast food restaurant so if don't want to wait, call your order in advance. I have had times where I would make an order over the phone, walk there and it's either ready or being boxed when I arrive. My house is a 20 minute walk on that note. It is a known restaurant but at the same time I feel like they could do more in the area of advertising if they wanna compete with neigboring restaurants. Being one of 3 non-chain options in the area goes both ways and its staying power speaks to its overall quality. I'll end with this: If you are not satisfied with your order, ask to speak with the owner. Your satisfaction is their only concern."

"I've lived in the neighborhood for about 10 years now and I've never once had a bad eating experience. EVER. Honestly, I really don't get the hatred most people have towards this place. It's one thing if you don't like the food but the feedback I've seen and heard from other locals feels like much more than that.I've gotten to know the owners. It's a family-owned business and they have lived in the area for years. The general consensus and attitude about TWC I keep seeing and hearing is it's not wanted or welcome by locals. Their longest regular customers are those who work at police station a a few doors down. With the bridge around the corner closed indefinitely for repairs, TWC is the only business that's still visible on that side of the intersection.I wanted to speak in defense of this restaurant not just because I've never had a bad experience personally but more importantly, the people who own and work there don't deserve the hate they get from their neighbors just because some people had bad experiences. The Cleary Square area already doesn't have that many food options anyway. All that said, it helps to set your expectations VERY low. If you want high-quality Chinese food, there's plenty of known options in Dedham. If you REALLY don't feel like cooking or just want something filling, TWC has you covered. The Combo Plates are the most popular for people who dine in or are on a lunch break. On that note. They closed the dining areas during the Pandemic though they've since only reopened the 3 tables facing the post office. I assume they only saw the need to do that much since most people take their food to go anyway. The interior feels pretty underwhelming to say the least but the seats are comfortable. There is a single person restroom next to the kitchen but it's been closed to the public since the Pandemic from what I understand. They permanently closed 70% of the dining area as it is.Contrary to what I know many locals think, all food are cooked to order. They do some prepwork in the morning but don't do the actual cooking until the order is placed. You're waiting typically 15 to 20 minutes on average for a small order or combo plate and portions are pretty generous overall. They do charge minimum $3.50 extra for any substitutions with Combo Plates excluding White Rice which they'll do for free. So for example if your combo plate would normally cost $12.50 it would be about $16 if you subbed in Beef Lo Mein or Chicken Fried Rice. It feels a bit much since I don't eat pork and I always request a substitution anyway. Would be nice if they let you substitution Vegetable Fried Rice or Vegetable Lo Mein for $1 or $2 max.All that said, prepare to go in spending at least $14 to $16 for a combo plate and a drink on average. If you want to go a la carte instead, you're spending minimum $30 to $40. That'll cover your pick of a large Fried Rice or Lo Mein, a large entree or two and a large Appetizer or two for up to four people."
