"BEST Dining experience in San Antonio! I absolutely LOVED everything. We went there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we were greeted by such a friendly and welcoming staff with smiles. We had the best seat next to the kitchen. It was great seeing the chef and students working together. I could see the excitement and passion in every dish they made. Our waiter was a fantastic guy named Brian. He was very cheerful, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. Sommelier Fabian was also fantastic! He was cheerful, attentive and educational...lol. I told him we were celebrating a bday and he surprised us with champagne. We had such a beautiful time engaging in conversation with both Brian and Fabian. Thank you! Thank you! "I placed an online order for a mushroom pizza for pickup. When I arrived 20 minutes later, my order was not ready. The only pizza they had available was topped with pepperoni, spinach, and onion. They offered to add mushrooms to it afterward, but the pizza was not even hot and didn’t have any tomato sauce. My lunch break is limited, so I didn’t have time to wait for them to prepare my actual order instead of giving me someone else's unclaimed pizza. It’s really frustrating when an online order can’t be fulfilled correctly."

"My husband and I ate here before seeing a show at the Majestic Theater. We both had the Pan Seared Red Snapper. It was the best meal we’ve ever had. The pearled cous cous and nopalito salad made the dish. We were also happy that half portions were offered. The service was excellent. We will definitely be returning!"

"We had a reservation for 1030 pm, but then they said the bar closes at 11. We were told the restaurant closes at 11. So why take a reservation at 1030. With one beverage menu between the seven of us, we barely got in one round. Then the kitchen closed at 1130 but some of desserts had run out. My wife’s truffle dish didn’t really have any truffles. The ricotta dumplings were hard. My chicken was decent but I think Mon Chou Chou is better. The Gulf Snapper Adobo was nice. And all of this wasn’t particularly cheap. Our waitress Bianca was very nice and cheery. She was the one bright spot of the evening."

"Modernist is a good bar that focuses on cocktails, but they don't use a menu. Experienced drinkers have an advantage when ordering. However, the bartenders are trained to create cocktails geared to each person's taste. Unless you're ordering a classic cocktail, expect to order by saying things like refreshing, dry, fruity, sour, and/or tropical. Mention any allergies or spirits to avoid. They also cater to guests wanting alcohol free cocktails. The indoor seating is limited so arrive early. Outdoor seating in the back is available but nobody will want to be put there in bad weather or stuck waiting for an indoor seat."
