"However, when my children and I decided to enjoy some live music at a nonprofit venue, we were taken aback when the owner approached us and stated it would cost $80 per person—totaling $240 for us to sit outside and listen to music at Roy's. We were asked to pay or leave almost immediately after settling in, which was incredibly embarrassing, especially with others around us witnessing it. As a single dad, this was the second time we felt unwelcome since moving here. As a result, I've decided to boycott this restaurant and will be looking into the nonprofit permits and licenses for that venue. Roy's, you lost my respect and my business with that one act of greed. We had $140 to spend that day on food, drinks, and crafts, but neither you nor your vendors saw any of it. I hope you can recover from this situation and reconsider your approach, especially regarding your charges for enjoying a beautiful day on Deadman's Bay. Can I still come by to enjoy the sunsets, or is there a fee for that too? Aloha."

We had two opportunities to try this place, but unfortunately, we ended up stopping our meal. The food here isn't any better than Captain D's, and it's likely even worse, plus the prices are significantly higher. I recommend heading to Kathy's Crab Shack instead, where you can enjoy great food and a fun atmosphere that truly justifies the price.

When we attempted to pay for our tea and salads, a server rushed out with our food just as we were getting ready to leave. Then, the owner approached us. Instead of expressing concern for our experience, the owner was only focused on making sure we paid for our order, even trying to guilt us by noting how busy they were, despite only two tables being occupied in the restaurant.
