"We will never return. The service was great and that was the only good thing. The calamari came out and was unbearably chewy, so we sent it back. My husband ordered the bone in New York strip, “a house favorite” for $76, and it came out black and blue (raw) with no sear, as if it had been cooked in an oven. So that went back to the kitchen for more cook time. The presentation of the steak was awful. Served on a tiny plate, in a pool of fat and the plate was splattered and very unappetizing looking. My fish dish was mediocre at best. The sides tasted like they were frozen and reheated. To top it off, the server brings out a plate of strawberries (probably 3 strawberries total, halved) as a closing treat to our meal, how nice right? When the check comes, we see we are charged for this item, which we did not order, and thought it to be a nice gesture on the house. This restaurant completely missed the mark! Unacceptable price tag for the food experience we had."

Had a wonderful time. Food was delicious and well presented. Oysters Rockefeller were a hit with the table along with the Spicy Shrimp. We are looking forward to our return visit on Friday.

My waitstaff was excellent. My T bone sirloin had a lot of gristle and was essentially inedible. The tenderloin side was great. Sides were great as they always are. Value not so good given meat quality.

"Because the next day T B is closing for renovations, many items were not available. What we specifically came to eat, the ribs, were out. So I decided to try something new, the chicken tortilla soup. Although the broth was very good, there were only 4 extremely small pieces of chicken and 4 small kernels of corn. I ordered the large bowl which was not filled, so very very disappointed. My ahi poke, which I normally get was way too much avocado, hardly any ahi and the taro chips were burnt and stale. Wish we had followed our gut instinct and left before ordering. I will go back after renovating, because in the past we were very pleased with our meals. But for the we spent this should’ve been an excellent meal. I hope they continue with live entertainment as that was the only highlight to our meal. Everyone in the restaurant singing along to songs was a really great memory."

"We have been at Brown's Beach House for more than five special occasions in the last three years. The ambience is breathtaking, and the sunsets are world class. The bread is amazing. Last night we had all three shrimps, and it had no taste at all. I had the fillet mignon, and it was good, but not great. It was also tiny for $68, but it included greens and potatoes. My wife had the venison she liked, but I didn't care. The dessert on the menu was a really good cheesecake. I had the Arnold Palmer Iced Tea, and they gave me free refills, but with regular tea. Unfortunately, for a $440 meal for three, I thought the food wasn't in place. Not sure if we return quickly as there are many restaurants with better food at lower prices."

"This was the best meal I had in Hawaii. I was so impressed by the delicious food that I wanted to try everything on the menu. I enjoyed it so much that I returned the next day, but unfortunately, I couldn't get a table because I didn't have a reservation. It was a kid-friendly restaurant, and even the baby had a great dining experience. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing meal. The price per person ranged from $50 to $100, but it was definitely worth it. I would give the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect score of 5."

"We had a wonderful experience dining at Canoe House on a Friday evening. I was with my daughter, her husband and their almost 3 year old daughter. Fine dining with a three year old is challenging, but the staff made us feel welcome and catered to her needs. We asked for a red blend wine to start our dinner and we were told by the waitress they just got some bottles in but it wasn't on the wine list yet. She went out of her way to retrieve a glass for the three of us from a brand new bottle. It was a lovely compliment to the wonderful dinner we had! A nice relaxing evening!"

"I would normally not give a convenience market that is somewhat expensive a 5-star rating, but this was the most affordable option in Waikoloa Village for food. While staying at the Hilton Waikoloa, we were shocked by the $30 cost for a plate of spaghetti with meatballs at Nui Italian. Our breakfast experience at A Bay's Island Grill cost us $77 and was less than satisfactory. For dinner, we opted for items such as Veggie Tempura Maki, Spicy California Roll, Turkey Crescent Sandwich, Musubi Chicken Katsu, totaling around $44 with tax. The variety of deli food items, poke, sandwiches, sushi, pizza, salads, and sides at this market was impressive. Although I considered buying paper plates for $14.99, I decided against it and used the cardboard box from a small pizza purchase to heat up my food instead. The cashier confirmed that Island Gourmet Market is part of the ABC store chain, where spending $100 can earn you a free gift. Unfortunately, I forgot to redeem mine. If I return to Waikoloa, I would not stay at the Hilton Waikoloa again. Instead, I would opt for accommodations with a kitchen, shop at Kona Costco, and prepare my own meals. However, I would definitely visit this market again for gifts. Overall, in a bind, this place is a great option."
