Ruth's Chris Steak House

Went for my husbands birthday! Wonderful service by Tamara and luz! Made his day so special. We shared the porterhouse steak. It was amazing.

The drinks took too long to come I thought they forgot about me and the salad dressing took too long to come. It was a busy night but service was subpar.

Greeting manager was rude and definitely gave hints of being prejudice. Food was delicious except for the lobster Mac and cheese. I get this side every time I visit this restaurant. However, this time lacked flavor. There was no seasoning and unfortunately had to be sent back.

Everything was great except for the fact that we were asked to sit in the bar area even though we had a reservation. We were told that we had to sit there because my guest had on a sweater with a hood while other guests wore cut out clothes and shorts and hoodies but were allowed to sit in the dining area

We hadn't been to Ruth's Chris in Walnut Creek for several years because we had a mediocre experience. Last night everything was outstanding: service, food and ambiance. This is a lovely place to go for a special meal or occasion. The food was delicious. Best steak I’ve had in years. Perfectly cooked. Had sides of mushrooms and a gratin potatoes. Both were good, but mushrooms especially. Service was attentive and precise and not overbearing. It is pricey but you get value for your money. Quiet and pleasant ambiance that you don’t find in restaurants any more. Will definitely be back.

Well. Not a true reading. Got a waiter in training. The martini was dry, not very dry. The Caesar arrived with dressing instead of on the side. The baked potato came pre loaded instead of condiments on the side. The steak showed up medium rare instead of medium. It wasn't top flight by any means. If I go back I will make sure to ask for an experienced waiter/waitress. The prices are way too high to endure someone's training mistakes.

After all said and done I would not recommend the restaurant. The value vs. what we received did not meet up with our expectations. The shrimp appetizers were the best portion of the meal. The steaks were good. The sides of garlic mashed potatoes and creamy spinach were average and the salad was drenched in dressing too much). The wine was good but overpriced. I'm no wine aficionado, but I have had good wine which was reasonably priced, $39 for a single 9 oz. glass). The service was okay, but I've gotten this type of service at a standard restaurant where I would spend $100 or less for 2 people. I really didn't feel like giving 15-20 percent of a $250 bill when everything seemed to be ordina... Visualizza piatti
