Delicious food! We ordered the ramen and the sushi boat. Everything was very fresh and full of flavor. The service was fast and friendly!

AMAZING! This is one of the best sushi experiences I've had anywhere in the world. Sit at the bar and ask the chef to prepare his favorites; you won't be disappointed! I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Without a doubt, this is the best sushi restaurant in all of Alaska! It's the only place I've come across that offers fresh Alaskan salmon in various types. The food was fresh and well-prepared, though not exceptional. However, the service was excellent, and the staff were particularly attentive to a shellfish allergy in our group. My top two dishes were the Vegetable Tempura and the Hustler Roll. The desserts were quite enjoyable as well, and I highly recommend the Yuzu Meringue Tart—it's a unique choice.

As always, the service was exceptional and the food was fantastic. My husband and I prefer sitting at the sushi bar, where we love watching the chefs prepare their dishes. This time, Johnny, the chef right in front of us, was incredibly helpful in suggesting various items for us to try. Every recommendation he made was delicious. Sakura is definitely one of our favorite dining spots in Girdwood.

The food was excellent, and there was a wide variety of options that suited my tastes! I ordered the ramen with pork and a crunch roll, while my friends opted for the sushi boat. I've returned several times since my first visit! However, I probably wouldn't choose the ramen again since it didn't quite impress me. On the other hand, the drinks were fantastic! This has become our favorite restaurant in Girdwood. While there are other nice options, this one stands out as the best, in my opinion. Living in San Diego and having previously lived in NYC, I didn't expect to find good sushi in Alaska, given the abundance of excellent Japanese cuisine in those cities. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality here for a resort restaurant. I highly recommend the Combo Boat if you’re a sushi lover, and the ramen is fantastic if that's more your style. Every other dish we tried was equally impressive. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Four of us dined this past weekend, and the food was good, but not great considering the price. One of us ordered the steak and added shrimp, and the shrimp were overcooked. Steak and vegetables were ok. Not bad, but not terrific. Service was mediocre. The server had too many people to wait on at one time. It wasn't terrible, but considering the price (about 60-75 a person with an appetizer, drink and a scoop of ice cream for desert), you expect to get really great on the spot service. Since this place didn't take reservation (very small place) we took our chance to just try our luck. We were seated less than a minute on their busiest night....as long as you don't mind sharing tables with strangers and made a few friends. The menu is decent and covers enough varieties. We picked a few basic and some unique dishes just to see how well they compared. We ordered the seaweed salad, crab tempura, black pepper king crab knuckles and the lobster crab lemon grass roll.
