"The ingredients are consistently fresh, which is great. However, my main issue lies with how the chef prepares the meat, especially the beef. It tends to be cooked all the way through, resulting in a chewy texture. Whenever I remember to request my beef cooked medium or medium rare, I always get the response, "We will try." But that's not the point—there shouldn't be a "try" involved. In America, a professional chef should not frequently serve well-done beef when customers specifically ask for it cooked differently. I believe this chef should focus on cooking something else instead of handling meat."

Dining was Okay with traditionalsushi plates. Rrminded me of older family run places in rural Japan. With so many good sushi places around in Bergen County . I may need to go back 1 more time to see if my 1st experience wasn't typical.

The restaurant was quite busy when we visited, but the staff was incredibly friendly. We tried the recommended Laurie roll, and it was absolutely delicious! The other rolls we ordered were decent but didn't impress us like the Laurie roll did. The sushi prices were steep compared to other places, so we probably wouldn't return unless it was just for the Laurie roll.

Compared to other restaurants we often visit, the food here was just average. The service, on the other hand, was quite disappointing. We received our soup after my husband had already started and nearly finished his pork dish. My sushi arrived shortly after we got the soup! Then we had to search for a busboy just to place our dessert order. I also wish I had known it was BYOB; I could have really used a drink!
