"Unfortunately, the fries arrived cold, lacking any warmth. When the server checked on our meals, she graciously apologized for the cold fries and offered to have them refried. It's a pity that we were so full from lunch because the dessert menu looked incredible. Overall, this was our first visit to the Sand Bar, and if we have a chance to return to Vinalhaven Island, we will definitely be back to dine here again."

Our server Bethany did a great job, in spite of being overwhelmed with the floor and bar and was very bubbly. Definitely has the smell of cigarettes inside, though. Could be off-putting for some.

I had an unexpectedly wonderful experience. I anticipated it to be a typical dive like those on the mainland, but this place exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly.

Food was quite decent, better than I was expecting. Bartender was awesome, service a bit slow but she was doing awesome keeping up and being very friendly the whole time. A bit pricey on the drinks but good pours...and you're on an island so everything costs more.

The Sand Bar is the kind of place that treats us tourists as if we are locals. Lindsay was a top notch server and bartender. Despite being incredibly busy she was friendly, efficient and both relaxed and professional. The wings were great and the drinks were both tasty and strong. We will be back!
