"The New Mexico stretch of Route 66 has the best Mexican food in the the US, and Nachos in Moriarty is top-tier. We loved the Green Chile Stew (tender pork, Hatch green chile, potato, and onion and served with fresh tortillas , which was full of flavor and the best we'd ever had. We also LOVED the Flat Enchiladas (cheese and onion and topped with an over-easy egg , which I ordered with both spicy red and mellow green chile (sauce . Both delicious! The Refried Beans, Tortilla Chips and Salsa, and EVEN the Rice were all yummy. Service by kindhearted Ruby was faultless--efficient and quick. When we asked if we could buy a couple pints of the Green Chile Stew and the Red Chile sauce to take home, Ruby swiftly packaged our items to go. (This kind of request often gives servers pause. She even translated my husband's compliments to the chef. Wonderful experience altogether!"

"Met a friend who was traveling along the 40 for lunch. Shorty’s is easy to get to and has ample space near by for RV parking. Features indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the front counter and then sit down to eat your food and they bring it out to you when it’s ready. They have BBQ, Sandwiches, Broasted “Fried Chicken”, Spaghetti, Pizza, Wings and more. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu because there were so many tasty choices, I ended up getting the Broasted Chicken and it was great! Sierra was our cashier and server and she was so helpful and pleasant. I felt like I had so many questions since it was my first time there and she was so friendly and answered all my questions. If you are traveling on Hwy 40 and would like some good eats- check out Shorty’s!"

"My wife had been driving all day and by the time we got to town, most places were closing in like 20 min. So we ended up at Country Pride. Was leary after some of the comments, but my fear was unfounded. The food was excellent. The service was good, despite Rita having to try to do everything by herself cause her help went home early at 5pm on a Saturday night. Thank you so much Rita for taking care of us.
