"The food options were typical of Southern comfort cuisine: fried chicken (which was decent), smoked sausage (also decent), meatloaf (good, though I haven't had it in a while, so I might be biased), mashed potatoes, corn, rice, and more. The mashed potatoes were a bit unusual; when I poured gravy over them, they absorbed it immediately, which was unexpected. Overall, the food was satisfactory—not remarkable, but certainly enough to satisfy my hunger. About halfway through my meal, they ran out of fried chicken and switched to chicken fingers, which was a disappointing choice. It might have been better to remove that from the menu and offer a different protein altogether. As I was leaving, I noticed they were beginning to serve pork chops, which I would have liked to try. I would be interested in trying the à la carte menu someday, but only if the other side of the restaurant is open so I can enjoy the water view. That scenic aspect is one of their main selling points, and it feels like they're missing an opportunity by not taking advantage of it. An outdoor porch overlooking the water would also be a wonderful addition."
