Sodo Sushi And Grill

I order takeout or delivery from Sodo Sushi once a week, and it’s always delicious and reliable! I really love the Mt. Alina and Jaugernat (I hope I spelled those right), as well as the noodles. They are absolutely amazing!

The food was quite disappointing in terms of flavor, and the nigiri portions were inconsistently small. My wife's teriyaki salmon was unexpectedly thin, and although she found the taste to be "okay," it didn’t make a lasting impression. Her steamed rice was dry and mostly went uneaten.

The restaurant has a pleasant and relaxed ambiance. There are numerous sushi options available, with various spice levels and fresh ingredients. I particularly liked the Poison Ivy roll. The food was amazing! I can’t wait for my next visit to sample more items from the menu. Instead of a full meal, I chose a variety of appetizers, including edamame ($5), tempura prawns ($7), and firecracker shrimp ($6). Everything was freshly prepared and extremely delicious. The tempura was crispy and cooked just right. I highly recommend the firecracker shrimp; the sweet Thai chili sauce complements this light appetizer beautifully.

My wife and I both ordered duck, but her dish arrived first, while mine took an annoyingly long 10 minutes to reach the table. I would give the service 1.5 stars. The flavors were bland, and the portion sizes were inconsistent. My wife’s Teriyaki salmon was disappointingly thin, although it tasted "okay." The steamed rice was dry and mostly left untouched. The rolls were quite flavorful, but the portion sizes were disappointing given the price. We essentially paid $16 for each roll, which were about the size of makis that usually cost less than $10. As seen in the picture, there was a lot of empty space on the plate. The restaurant was in poor condition, with sticky floors and tables, and my seat had a significant tear in it. I started my meal with the steamed chicken gyoza, which was a delightful appetizer—the chicken was juicy and tender. For my main course, I chose the SoDo chicken curry. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked, although the curry itself had a pleasant flavor. I’m giving this restaurant a mere 2 stars because while the food was decent, the service left much to be desired. We were almost the only customers there, so I can't overlook the lack of attention due to a busy atmosphere. They didn’t provide a high chair, forcing me to use my own seat. When we ran out of water, I requested a modification to one of the sushi dishes due to a shrimp allergy, but the waiter informed me that it wasn’t possible. When our food finally arrived, we were not given any utensils.
