"“Energetic” noise level means “LOUD”, but Open Table doesn’t have a choice for that... It’s loud in this place. Not because it was crowded, but because the decor is “live” with no sound baffles. There was a group of women at the next table cackling like sorority girls the whole time we were there. Not the restaurant’s fault, but annoying nonetheless when you’re out trying to have a date night with your love.. But everything else about this place is superb! Food is always good. They’re always accommodating. And the service we’ve had from every server has been outstanding and genuine. Located where it is, I’m surprised it wasn’t busy on a Saturday night at dinner time. A lot of people were eating outside, so maybe that’s why the inside seemed wide open. We come here a lot and enjoy it very much every time. We will be back again"

Sub Zero is the place in the St Louis area if you love sushi. The service is always great, and if you don't care for sushi the rest of the menu is very good as well. Definitely recommend Sub-Zero

The food and service were great. I had never been and wasn't quite sure....I would definitely go back. I'd say a semi-casual place. Good with friends or to even to take a date. I'm a vodka fan and the choices were amazing!!! Sushi was tasty and the person I took loved the hamburger Visualizza piatti

With so many great sushi places in St Louis, we were really disappointed at how average the sushi here was. Overall food was very average. The service was great- our waitress was friendly and helpful. Just not worth the price of the meal when there are other superior options close by. Disappointing

The drinks and food are just okay but the service we had was very good and overall we had a lot of fun celebrating my friend's birthday. We ended up having one extra person from the we had booked for and they were accommodating and kind. It's definitely a little pricey for the quality of food/drinks you receive but worth the trip for a birthday night out

The vodka selection is unrivaled, and the food is good. I'd recommend going surf and turf: sharing a bunch of sliders and sushi while sipping on vodka drinks. The decor is rather sterile, but I think that's the intent. They could get more inventive with their sushi, adding touches that are showing up at sushi hot spots these days, such as fresh sprouts. Cheers Visualizza piatti

Had a vodka and soda, but you were out of Tito’s and the soda was flat. The waitress was very accommodating. Food was decent and the carrot cake was amazing. We sat in the dining room rather than the bar where we normally sit. Maybe that is why the ambience wasn’t as fun and energetic as it usually is. All in all, this place is pretty consistent food and service-wise

Kamikaze shots were awful. White Russian drinks were weak. Calamari was so small it looked pathetic as a shared appetizer. Hummus was ok. Lamb sandwich did not come with ordered condiments. Sour dough bread too thin to hold lamb much less condiments. Jerk chicken sandwich had strong pepper only flavor. Slaw was almost never non-existent and bread didn't support sandwich. Server was attentive. Food over priced for quality. Restaurant was not busy, but already having order problems. Sad, we were there for a special birthday

"My boyfriend and I came to this place during our visit to St. Louis after reading rave reviews about it online. We went in well-dressed and excited with high expectations, but unfortunately were left feeling extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. Dining at the restaurant definitely taught us a lot about the ozark history. I have a lot of respect for the time and enthusiasm the owner put into researching the history, arranging youtube videos, and conveying this information to the guests. His concerns about the environment and zero-waste efforts are also very laudable. His direct interactions with all of the guests and attempts to answer questions were refreshing. The food, however, was very lacking and mediocre. The concept of watching your food being made is fun and exciting. Understandably, they can’t make everything and plenty is prepared in advance. Except they really didn’t seem to make much of anything at all. A few grilled mushrooms here, and a delicate but also pompous plating there and that’s it. I know there’s probably a kitchen in the back and they work throughout the day as most kitchens do, but this gaudy element of pseudo showmanship missed a serious mark. Again, that’s fine. It’s an aesthetic and part of the bulrush experience. What annoys me is the price tag and the faint whiff of haughtiness that comes with it. The kitchen hands also looked apathetic, disinterested, and lacked focus. They didn’t look like professional chefs, just professional food assemblers. I did not trust that they knew to prepare food properly and that was evident in what was eventually served. The food was either too plain, too sour, too salty, or overall a very big disappointment. The steak had so many big chunks of fat in it that I was only able to eat about half of it. The poissants were cute but definitely not something I would pay that much money for, especially given that there were only about two small pieces of it on our plates. The beets, brussel sprouts, asparagus, fried onions that we were served, I can find and reproduce in my own kitchen. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a lot more flavor, unique ingredients, and creativity. I asked the owner why Ozark and he admitted it was an entrepreneurial strategy to stand out. He loved to repeat to our audience that night that “no one else” is doing it! Well when you taste the food you can kinda see why? I can’t deny though that the chefs know how to make something look appetizing in pictures. That’s what initially attracted us to the restaurant. The pretty platings and colorfully spectacular arrangements were what got us in the door. The experience has been worth it in the sense that for all that we paid for, we got a good lesson to not eat with our eyes, and a funny story to tell our friends back at home."
