This was one of the best places to eat, definitely in my top three in Brownsville. I'm heartbroken to learn that they've closed, and I sincerely hope they reopen or relocate in the future. The owners were always incredibly kind, and I can't emphasize enough how fantastic their bento boxes were. Dining at Sushi Bento always made my day.

I had a craving for sushi and stumbled upon this place after checking out the reviews. I went around noon on a Friday, and sure enough, they were busy. However, the wait was definitely worth it because everything is made from scratch. The person who took my order was super nice as well. I plan to return and hope that the quality remains as excellent as my first experience.

The food was fresh and delicious! We ordered a combo meal, and the teriyaki chicken was perfectly seasoned. The shrimp tempura and dumplings were great additions as well. We also ordered the Ahi tuna don, which was again fresh and flavorful. This isn't a fast food place—everything is made to order, and the wait is definitely worthwhile. We dropped in for lunch and ordered the Chicken Teriyaki bento, Beef Bento, and fried dumplings. It seemed like there weren't many staff members on hand, which resulted in slow service. However, the staff were friendly. We had to wait about 10 minutes to have our order taken, and then another 40 minutes for our food to arrive. The presentation of the food was delightful, and the proteins in our bentos were fantastic! Everything else was quite good. Overall, it’s a great spot, and I plan to return, but I’ll call in my order ahead of time next time.

I ordered dumplings, two crunch makis, and a spicy California maki, but I forgot to take pictures before we started eating and only managed to snap a photo of a half-eaten crunch maki. We enjoyed everything so much that there was hardly anything left! Even my one-year-old nephew devoured a dumpling and did his happy dance, letting us know how much he liked the food! I've been to many sushi restaurants in Houston and even dined at Kumori in Brownsville, but this one is by far the best. The owners are incredibly sweet, and the food was made fresh. I wholeheartedly recommend this place; Kumori doesn't compare!

Sushi Bento was the best Japanese restaurant in Brownsville, and it remains one of my all-time favorites. It was a hidden gem that provided excellent food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The authenticity of the cuisine was unmatched, consistently leaving diners satisfied. Those who were fortunate enough to discover Sushi Bento were truly privileged to experience its unique offerings. I will always cherish the memories of being warmly greeted there and enjoying the delicious meals that accompanied my first years at the University of Texas at the Rio Grande Valley.
