"This not quite a hole-in-the-wall place has some of the best food and service in the area. From the owners, to the waitresses, waiters, bar tenders and cooks, they are always top notch. Today, I took my kids as an after school treat and Bailey took great care of us. Excellent fish fry on Friday nights, great burgers, nachos, and appetizers. Will continue to come back as long as I'm around. Thank you Bill and Tammy! Service: Dine in"

Overall a fun place to watch a sporting event or spend time with friends. The parking is probably the biggest challenge if it’s a busy time.

The way was awful! We left without getting our food. Waitress said sorry we are at 45 minute wait on food! Unacceptable that she only came to our table once during this time! I understand being busier than expected, but communication is always good!!!!!

Sub par service as several of our Family's order came out wrong. One Family member had specific allergen requests and when the food came out, the request was not done. Service was slow and do not like an automatic 18% gratuity placed on the bill when the service does not match. The Only bright spot was the mature bartender on the outside bar was knowledgeable and personable.

"I'm truly saddened to write this review. Maria's has been one of our favorite restaurants since we moved to Spring Grove. However, since the change in ownership, the quality of the food has noticeably declined while the prices have risen significantly. The food is now overly greasy, and the quality of the meat seems to have changed as well. Our last two orders were incorrect, and today we ordered queso fundido as an appetizer through Uber Eats, but it arrived without any tortillas. In the past, we used to receive guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tomato with any entrée, but now it comes plain. With the prices going up and the overall quality going down, we regrettably won’t be visiting as often anymore."

"I wanted to try a breakfast place that wasn't one of my regular places in McHenry. I wasn't disappointed here. I ordered the land fried steak with two eggs, sunny side up. The 8 oz Steak huge and tasty. The eggs were perfectly cooked. They had a nice selection of jams and jewelry on the table. The toast came pre-infused, but could still have used some butter. There was a small charge for my request of onions in the Hasch-Braunkartoffeln, which was not mentioned by the server when I ordered. Your coffee cups could be bigger, but my cup was never more than a minute or two empty than my server or owner or manager came with a refill. I drank decaff and it took a few stops to remember regular refills for them."

"The pizza was good as always, but the service was incredibly slow. We noticed that three tables around us, who ordered after we did, received their food before us. My guests had to watch me eat after they finished their meals because my thin crust pizza took a staggering 50 minutes to be cooked and delivered to our table. I was offered a 50% discount, but the real issue was never addressed. We were told the delay was because they were too busy. Too busy to serve customers in order and promptly? I can understand if the ticket got lost or the pizza was delivered to the wrong table—those are valid reasons—but being busy isn't an excuse. If someone had acknowledged the mistake, I would have continued to be a loyal customer. Since that didn't happen, I will have to think twice before returning to Fanella's."

"Excellent skirt steak nachos. We also ordered a thin crust pizza with pepperoni and olives. Seems as they have changed the pizza a bit. Sauce was a sweeter taste like Papa John's and the crust was not as crisp as I remember it. Turned out to be soggy andfloppy pizza. Service was super good though. Just will stick to the steak nachos. Bring back the old recipe for pizza."
