"However, I would rate it more like three stars at most for a few reasons: this is not really a hotel, so don’t expect the same value you would find at a typical hotel. The staff is friendly, but they lack professionalism. You will definitely pay a premium here. If you're mainly drawn by the views and the environment, then this is perfect for you. The rooms maintain much of their original decor, and they serve tea every afternoon, though it lacks the traditional tea sandwiches. Remember, this is not Windsor Castle—it's an old mansion in the USA. While sharing bathrooms at $400 a night can be acceptable, not having your room cleaned, dealing with unkempt shared bathrooms, and experiencing outdated plumbing is not. It's evident that the money is being funneled into maintaining the farm and the potentially expensive upkeep of the mansion. They do provide some local cheese as a welcome gift, along with a poem and candy for the night, which is a nice touch but does not make up for the other issues. That said, the beauty of the place makes it worth staying for a night or two if you're willing to compromise and know what to expect. If your budget allows, I recommend splurging for a room with an en-suite bathroom, even if it costs $600 a night—treat yourself to a weekend in this amazing location, but don’t expect hotel-like amenities for that price. And by the way, bring your own drinks because the bar closes at 9 PM! Mostly an older crowd here, so don’t come expecting nightlife."

I visited for breakfast and was impressed by the stunning inn. The interior is absolutely lovely, and the garden is picturesque. The breakfast is delightful, featuring fresh ingredients sourced from the farm. Be sure to secure outdoor seating to enjoy the view of the lake! Service: 5 Location: 5

I absolutely loved staying here! We stayed at the vineyard cabin and it was very charming. It was clean and came with important essentials if you forgot yours at home. Some memorable moments were sitting on the hammock with my family and playing the games provided in the cabinets. The scallops were perfectly seared and fresh, yet they were unfortunately too salty, as was the clam sauce that came with them; we couldn't finish this dish. As for dessert, the cherry pot de crème was below average as well. The cocoa nibs added bitterness and were far too tough compared to the other ingredients, making the dessert unenjoyable. On a positive note, the waitstaff and service were excellent, and the location and view were truly magnificent.

(Restaurant Only. Absolutely a must visit if you are in town or near Burlington. I don't understand any of the bad reviews regarding portion size and pricing. All menu items were described by our waitress as basically appetizer size and meant to be shared. Don't like to share? You can order 1 lighter item as an appetizer and 2 protein items to make up a full entrée. My wife and I ordered 5 items in total and shared everything. It was just right. Go back in time when the Vanderbilt's lived there and enjoy a great experience with fantastic food and beautiful ambiance. You won't be disappointed. Location: 5
