The Old Inn On The Green At the Pillow

New Chef. What a difference. Yeah. There is also a wonderful new manager and Beverly, the hostess, is as always wonderful. Last night I had the lobster roll. It was wonderful. Pure lobster with no filler. And two lovely side salads.

Absolutely gorgeous setting outside under the tent. Very attentive service, tasty Chardonnay, trio of summer salads is a nice first course and very much enjoyed the Faroe island salmon! Top it all off with a local chèvre cheesecake and off to a wonderful dance performance. Highly recommended!

Service was appallingly slow, the menu was grim, and the food was inedible. We showed up two hours before the performance we had tickets for and half of us hadn't gotten our entrees by the time it had started. Prices are HILARIOUS for what they're serving. This was my third visit this summer. I 've had the same dish, shrimp ? and scallop ? cake with a lemon sauce. The last times it was good, last night it was inedible. Even the asparagus were soggy! The usually delicious sauce was lumpy and tasteless! Our server was... not helpful ...his words! The Pillow performance was wonderful!

We ate at this eatery last night at 5:00pm. While the prices are up there, the food was worth it. It was delicious and there was plenty. We had really well stuffed lobster rolls, and the rolls were butttery delicious. I had the clam chowder, whiich was a good sized bowl loaded with clams. The service was excellent and gracious. We were visiting Jacob's Pillow and was hungry. The options was this or the cafe. The cafe is pretty expensive fine dining prices. This place is mostly salads and sandwiches. The sandwiches was okay, grilled cheese sandwich was delicious but the pastrami is not my favorites The service was quite unprofessional: The kitchen guy yelled at the wait staff for asking for ketchup for us. Super rude and unprofessional behavior. My beer sat at the bar counter because I forgot about it since I was getting water for the family. We had a lovely brunch here today. The staff were charming and efficient. I had the couscous salad with grilled lamb. The portion was very generous and the lamb was perfectly done. My husband had the udon noodles with huge shrimp and tender scallops, seasoned with just the right kick. Our wine was an organic white from California which could have been a bit cooler. The desserts, especially the chèvre cheesecake, were good enough to please my husband, who usually rejects all restaurant baking as inferior to mine, so his endorsement truly means something. Not cheap, but a delightful prelude to the dance performance.

We came here for brunch before a matinee and had a pleasant, relaxing experience and enjoyed the outdoor setting. Service was prompt and friendly despite the restaurant filling up with patrons as we ate. The dishes on the menu are mostly simple, but include good portion sizes and fresh, local ingredients. I love eggs Benedict with hollandaise sause so I was happy to see different varieties offered. My orange mimosa was delicious. Waitstaff welcomed us to lounge at our table with our drinks after we paid our bill since our table would not need to be turned. All in all, we enjoyed the atmosphere and will be happy to return before our next performance at the Pillow.

What a change! Last year the food was amazing and memorable! This year is was fair! Not worth the $95 it...for a glass of wine, small plate, entree and dessert which only the wine was good! The food was not as it was described on the menu! The crab cake description : Classic Crab Cake-Come slaw, roasted tomatoes remoulade sauce Crabcake was thin ...thin on lump crab meat, thin on the remoulade sauce and it was an extra! Roasted veggies that were tough to cut and cold! Entree description: Crispy-Skin Filet of Faroe Island Salmon quinoa salad, asparagus, tomato basil vinaigrette 34 Actually the salmon was not crispy! more like teriyaki salmon with limp asparagus like out of a can ! and a fair...
