"We previously had a lovely dinner at The Port and were excited to visit again. Unfortunately, due to terrible service (the busperson kept refilling our water as our server was nowhere to be seen and we waited nearly half an hour between courses), we sat for dinner for TWO HOURS. Nothing was comped, no apologies were offered. We saw other tables come and go in the time it took us to get served. We did not ask for anything unusual only two appetizers. I would NOT recommend the 'market cheeses ' appetizer not well described. We had a 2 x 1 slab of blue cheese, two tiny dried up crostini, one of which had a dab of tomato confit. My husband 's NY strip was more charred/**** rare than medium rare. My market fish, thankfully, was halibut and was excellent, so we shared that. NOT WORTH the price or the wait time. I am sad to have to report our disappointment."

Fantastic place for wine, cocktails and Scotch. Beautiful atmosphere, the servers are attentive and efficient. Can hardly wait until the restaurant opens again. This is a very COVID aware place for drinks. You can feel comfortable.

Loved this place! The thick stone walls, the fireplace, the excellent food, the very kind wait staff all of it was lovely. We had the best mussels we've found in the state of Minnesota. Very cool bar, too, where we had a drink before our dinner reservation time. Visualizza piatti

We came from the west coast for a special occasion; we were married here in Red Wing 31 years ago. Our wedding reception was at the St James Hotel/1988. This truly was MEMORY LANE! Thank you for a great experience. The food, the venue, the wines were sogood. Our service was TOP NOTCH. So friendly and personal. You made tonight a gift!

First time we have been at The Port in the St. James Hotel. The ambiance was great situated in the basement. It looked and felt like you took a step back in time. The food was excellent. The French Onion soup was the best we have ever eaten. The steaks were tender and cooked as ordered. The scallops were cooked perfectly pan seared and not rubbery over rice that was a perfect match with mushrooms, parmesan and a buttery sauce. We will definitely be returning.
