My husband, who is a professional Chef and quite particular about food, was highly impressed and is looking forward to returning and recommending it to others. "As for the tostones, they were cooked to perfection—crispy, warm, and lightly salted. They were served with a unique sauce that consisted of a clear broth infused with smashed garlic, which was an interesting touch. To finish off my meal, I ordered a piece of chocolate tres leches cake, paired with another cup of coffee, of course. The server brought out a generous slice of homemade cake that was both moist and flavorful. The three milks were evenly soaked throughout, making the cake neither too dry nor overly mushy. I must also commend my server, a young woman who was tidy and clean, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and cheerfulness. She made me feel like a guest in her family's home, which added to the experience. I’m not sure if she is related to the owners, but she certainly contributed to making this nearly perfect meal even better. I would gladly travel back to Lenoir just to dine here again."

"Katz is a precious gem in Lenoir NC. She in only open for a few hours on Fridays now. And there is always a line waiting for her to open those doors. We all know, that no matter what we get, it is going to be FANTASTIC. She is so creative. Her foods are not only delicious but also healthy. She does cantering locally and though I have not been blessed enough to have her catered food, I know it has to be top notch. Because she doesn't half-way do anything. She does take orders for Fridays. But most of what she offers are grab and go options. And they are worth it. 1000% worth it. Also! Also! She is so kind. And warm. Always smiling and willing to have a conversation. Lenoir is lucky to have Katz."

"I have dined at this restaurant numerous times and the food is fantastic. The menu is small and the space is cozy, but the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Many people might overlook this place unless they are Hispanic and familiar with it. I should probably keep it a secret so I can easily secure a seat when I visit. In all seriousness, the staff is welcoming, the food is delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are very reasonable."

"Wow, what a great place to have a party. Vickie’s 1841 Café has so many things you cannot get under one roof anywhere else for your entertaining purposes. We held our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner at 1841 Café. There are not many places one can find with the space, the décor and amenities all in one package. First of all, to decorate in the unique feel of this place in historic Downtown Lenoir NC would bust most budgets. Next and most importantly, Vickie with her kitchen, worked one on one with us to create a unique experience. Eric, Bert and Danny handled our menu’s special request with no problem. This kitchen has become one of the best in Lenoir. They took the extra effort to find the right ingredients to create a beautiful menu and display that not only tasted great, but also made it an extraordinary presentation for our special occasion. Our new extended families are from far away states of the north and mid-west. We wanted to have our best foot forward and Vickie and her staff knocked it out of the park for us. We had a night full of hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert and a great place to fellowship. They served 60 people comfortably in the event room. And with a full bar conveniently available next door in the Café’s dining room, we had every need met. It was worth more than the price we paid, which is usual for anyone who knows how Vickie works. She would rather you tip her staff well because that helps her develop a good team. It was a wonderful way to break bread and get to know each other as a new family.
