The food at this restaurant is amazing! We always come back for more. Today for lunch, I had the mixed tempura and chirashi plate, and it looked fantastic.

Food's just ok, 3 stars...more on quantity vs quality. Big servings, ok taste. The rolls didn't seem fresh, first time I did not wipe it out. Same with the bento box. Meh I guess. Didn't care to bag leftovers.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem of a restaurant! The portions are huge, the fish is fresh, and the prices are affordable. Had a lovely experience here! My friend and I were looking for a late dinner and stopped in about an hour before closing. Staff was nice and welcoming, lots of take out orders were picked up while we were the only diners at that time. The food was delicious! Fresh and flavorful. Can't wait to go back!

We have been loyal customers of Toyo Sushi for over 16 years, visiting many times each week. This restaurant is our top choice for sushi for several reasons - the staff is friendly, the fish is always fresh, and they offer a wide variety of options for those who prefer non-raw fish dishes. It can get quite busy, especially on Friday nights, so if you order takeout as a regular customer, be prepared to wait an extra 20 minutes beyond the estimated pick-up time. However, the delicious food is well worth the wait. For those dining in, Toyo Sushi offers both indoor and outdoor seating and makes an effort to accommodate larger groups.

When reviewers said they had big rolls, they didn't explain HOW HUGE the rolls are. My new favorite sushi spot. I ordered the Katie's roll It was hard to choose l bc the roll list is so long and everything looks good! and it was super fresh and absolutely delicious. It was the size of 2 normal rolls at other restaurants! And so inexpensive! I'm still in disbelief at the quality and quantity. I also ordered salmon nigiri and the pieces of fish were huge and absolutely fresh and tasty. And inexpensive! I came back again and got the Toyo roll and it was so fresh!! Absolutely love! It's taken me a long while to write a review here. My goal is to try almost every item on the menu. The facility is small, it has a hole in the wall feel, without being an actual hole in the wall. I have some complaints about the cleanliness of the place but the quantity plus quality is very, very equal. Some days are hit or miss. The quality and size of the rolls fluctuate depending on the time of week (it seems). All in all, I still choose this place hand over fist. It scratches the itch without burning the bank. WTF FOOD FOR DAYS LOL. The sushi quality is ok compared to other spots, but you're really coming here for the massive portions. We called in our order for dinner and it was ready within 30 mins for pickup. While I didn't dine in, the restaurant seemed pretty humble, clean, and cozy from what I saw during pickup. The staff are courteous and speak Mandarin. HAMACHI KAMA: More charred than I would like but the inside meat is still nice and savory. A little dry...! But the sauce saves it. I think it's ponzu? This sushi spot seems to be a great family-run business! They accommodated our party of 7 (my friends and I wanted sushi after our hike up Mt. Diablo with no issue and with friendly service too. I personally ordered the yakitori and the Ghost Special roll from their Chef Special menu. My partner and friends ordered a bunch of different things from the Double Salmon Roll, the Dinner combos (tempura, salmon, and chicken katsu and some soft shell crab.
