My favorite sandwich shop in Sacramento. There's a reason why they won Sacramento's best sandwich. I love talking with the owners and staff. Had the Philly Cheese Steak and a cookie. If bland food floats your boat then prepare to set sail on the Sea of Mediocrity. I had to add salt to my sandwich in order to eat it which is unfortunate because I used to come here in the early 2000s and it was rad. Oh well, it was nice to see it's still around. Tummy's is always good for a great sandwich! There's a Subway in Rio Linda too, but there might as well not be. This is a local sub shop, not a chain sandwich place. I stopped here for lunch after biking from midtown along the Sacramento Northern Bike Trail. I had the Turkey Cranberry, wrapped in a tomato basil tortilla. It was great! Awesome little family owned sub shop. The food is phenomenal and very consistent. Tummy 's in Rio Linda, California, has been around for a good long while, and I was a regular customer for about 12 of those years. I worked at the neighboring fertilizer plant and tried to get over to Tummy 's for lunch as often as I could. And whenever the work called for overtime, it was most often attended with a bagged dinner order from Tummy 's! This place is famous for its subs, pure and simple. It doesn 't have all the chrome and glamor of its uptown, franchised rivals, and it surely doesn 't have what you 'd call a decent parking space. First and foremost if you 're looking for a value mill this is not the place to go! Can you say way overpriced... I mean $11 for 2 small soups and I mean small soups. One was a clam chowder their Friday special and the other was supposed to be chilli For one it had the most gritty texture As if somebody poured sand into it. Kind of curious as to what that could be... To make it even that much better since it was so overpriced the crackers were stale.
