"The next twenty minutes became a lively discussion about pizza options in the Charleston area, which, unfortunately, seemed to have more drawbacks than benefits. However, after much deliberation, we decided on Vespa, mainly for its convenient location. As we drove down Seven Farms Drive, we saw a large Charleston Police Command Center RV parked without authorization right across from Credit One Stadium. Clearly, they were preparing for potential fallout from the Paris riots spilling over into Daniel Island. Looks like they mean business! Approaching Vespa, it became apparent that it didn’t offer much in terms of curb appeal. There was an enormous generator-like contraption that looked like it could power a small city, presumably used for serving frozen drinks. Scattered throughout the courtyard were various carts, likely used to transport firewood for the pizza oven. To our surprise, some brave souls were dining outside, enduring the oppressive heat and humidity. They must have been Swedish tourists seeking an authentic Southern experience. Once we stepped inside the pleasantly cool restaurant, a lovely hostess welcomed us and showed us to our table. Oddly enough, there was a sign taped to a wall of stacked wood that read, “DON’T WRITE ON WALL.” I assumed they must have had their fill of patrons from the Tattooed Moose at Park Circle, where customers are encouraged to unleash their creativity using Sharpies. The restaurant was bustling with impeccably dressed Southern families in gingham dresses and bow ties, making me feel quite underdressed in comparison. (At least I wasn’t in flip-flops or a backward baseball cap.) For some reason, I asked our cheerful server about the soup of the day, and to my surprise, she replied, “Miso.” MISO? What happened to the classic Minestrone soup in Italian restaurants? (If anyone knows of a place in the Low Country that still serves it, please let me know!) While we waited for our salad and pizza, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of organization. Boxes were haphazardly piled everywhere, and the overall aesthetic felt somewhat shabby. The courtyard outside looked disheveled, and inside, cardboard boxes were strewn about. The silverware, wrapped in napkins, gave off a distinctly cheap vibe. No tablecloths, disposable plastic cups, or cheap plates—definitely not the kind of place we’d bring out-of-town guests, but I must admit, THE FOOD IS REALLY GOOD and THE PRICES ARE REASONABLE, plus the TIPS ARE CALCULATED PRE-TAX. We were genuinely impressed and will certainly be back. P.S. The Garlic Knots are absolutely amazing!"

The food here was fantastic. We came in on 4th of July weekend and we're able to walk in and order a pizza and appetizer to go and leave within about 30 minutes! I will definitely be returning and trying some of the other unique pizza options they have!

The pizza here was fantastic! We enjoyed our meal outdoors in a lovely setting, surrounded by plants, trees, and charming bistro tables with illuminated umbrellas. There was a mishap with the server who mistakenly brought out barbecue chicken instead of buffalo chicken for my Caesar salad, which I didn’t particularly like, but we managed to resolve it, and I ended up satisfied. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for both lunch and dinner!

If I could leave a negative review, I definitely would. I ordered a gluten-free pizza along with a couple of appetizers. When my gluten-free friend pointed out that the pizza wasn’t actually gluten-free, I called the restaurant to address the issue. Laura answered the phone and admitted she must have entered the order incorrectly. Her solution was for me to drive back, return the wrong pizza, and pick up the correct one from Vespa’s end. I will never order from this restaurant again. If you have food allergies, I recommend staying away!

I've never written a review before—ever. I typically avoid ordering from places that lack a solid reputation. Today, however, I made a huge mistake. This was the worst pizza I've ever experienced. Seriously, they need to do better. Has the owner or chef never seen a decent Grilled Chicken Caesar pizza? I'm new to the area, but I already know there are plenty of great food options around. No restaurant should be this bad at making food. It honestly feels like a social experiment to see just how poorly you can prepare food without driving your customers away. Visualizza piatti

One of the things I appreciate most about Vespa is the size and selection of salads! I always like a little salad to balance out my pizza. My go-to is the beet and goat cheese salad, while my husband always gets the black and bleu. The half-sized salads are a very generous portion and we usually end up with leftovers. We've tried multiple pizzas and they're all good! I'm not usually a white sauce pizza person, but Vespa has a white sauce chicken pizza that puts all others to shame! Beware that this spot will be PACKED any time there is a concern at the stadium- plan accordingly

Wow, how did I ever miss Vespa Pizza on Daniel Island before?! It's a fantastic place with casual dining both indoors and outdoors. The restaurant itself is lovely, complemented by cheerful and attentive staff. They offer a daily specials menu in addition to their regular offerings. The pizzas, salads, and appetizers we tried were all delicious. Each pizza is made in-house and features a beautifully crispy crust baked in a wood-fired oven—simply delightful! Every dish was bursting with fresh flavors. I truly enjoyed my time here; it was so relaxing to sit outside in the shade and savor great food. We will definitely be back!

Had another fabulous experience at Vespa Pizza! It started with the special soup, French onion! Followed up by the special salad with roasted pears, almonds, etc topped with a honey vinaigrette! The special pasta was so flavorful, with Italian sausage, broccoli and creamy cheese! Ended it with the zeppolis with vanilla sauce! My friend had my favorite sausage, bacon and pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious, as usual, and the service was awesome! Our waitress was on top of things, making suggestions, bringing out all the courses as requested and offering all that was good! I love this cozy little pizza place on Daniel Island! It's a must try!!! Visualizza piatti

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT RIPS OFF THEIR CUSTOMERS. Can 't rate the food because I never go to! I ordered to go food: Seafood pasta. The container was a sandwich container clam shell design where only the bottom half held the food. In this case the bottom was sauce. During my drive, the sauce leaked out the side and then the lid popped off and spilled everywhere. So now I am without food and a trashed car that smells of pasta sauce. Now, I call Vespa and asked for a manager. I explained that I was out a $20 dish and no lunch. I had spent a total of $40 on takeout for lunch and her/managers only response was that she would tell the kitchen. Result: no food, out $40, have to clean my car...

The Caprese salad arrived first, and honestly, it was just average. The tomatoes lacked freshness and flavor, and the mozzarella cheese was somewhat rubbery, giving the impression that it came from a packaged source. As for the black and blue salad, it certainly looked appealing, but it was served warm—something I find puzzling about this establishment's approach to salads. On a brighter note, the pizza was enjoyable! I devoured half of it and saved the other half for lunch the following day. The only downside was that the center of the pizza was a bit soggy. Initially, it took a little while for the staff to take our drink orders, but our server was friendly and had a great attitude,...
