"It's a common occurrence at many restaurants. Definitely the Diner can do whatever they want to do. It is their business not yours. Kids do not tip because their PARENTS don’t teach them. They also will run out on the bill, leaving the waitress to eat the bill. If you don’t like their policy, there are only 1000 more diners to go to in NJ.

I adore this diner. I have been coming here for a long time and have never experienced any problems. I completely support the gratuity they automatically add to larger bills, especially when there are teenagers who may not be tipping enough. I applaud them for standing up to Melissa Desch, who complained about a 90 cent tip and spread gossip around town and on TV. Keep up the good work, Wayne Hills Diner! I will definitely keep eating here.
