"I 've had mixed experiences here. Over a year ago, I asked about a vegan menu item containing, apparently, mock meat. I asked about it and was told the meat was real. Incredulous, I asked why it was identified as vegan on the menu and they responded that vegan meant only no dairy. I think that 's corrected now. But on a subsequent visit, I asked if a particular item was vegan. The waiter asked the apparent owner, who was nearly right in front of me, and answered very angrily NO ITS NOT VEGAN. A colleague recently reported to me he asked if their food was organic and was told no, because their customers aren 't interested in that. ??? All of which is highly disappointing because the cooking is in fact very well done, the spices great, the menu diverse and the ambiance excellent. But on balance, as a vegan, the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. They 're good cooks but it still just doesn 't feel vegan friendly. For those of us for whom eating is a politically and socially conscious experience as well as a culinary one, India House falls short."

"Hours- Saturday hours on Google are incorrect. The place shuts down from 2pm til 5 PM while the staff is getting ready for dinner crowd. This was extremely inconvenient as we had to spend money on extra parking and also try to find something else to do for few hours. Staff- The moment you walk in , you imidiately face the sushi bar and the big chef of the house, the man himself who greats you and then hits his gong with a mallet to let everyone know that you have arrived, VIP is here! I thought it was great. The male waiter welcomed us next and offered us few areas to sit down in, we wanted to stay next to the chef so we stayed downstairs at the sushi bar. (They do have main sitting area upstairs) Food- The place offers Omakase, so we went with that ONLY because the chef was very friendly. We had multiple variations of sushi and sashimi made by chef and his staff. All the foods were photographed for this review, except the eel temaki. Toro was so fat and so smooth, with a very mild fish flavor. The oysters with raw quail egg were probably my favorite, absolutely brilliant! So smooth, nothing funky, just smooth and delicious! Yellowtail was fresh tasting. Their rice in the sushi was great as well (I dont know what all these Daves and Maries complain about it) One negative thing about our experience- the woman kept on making sure we're OK with the price of Omakase after we had repeated multiple times we didnt care about the price tag we wanted the experience (so that kind of put me back in my seat for a quick minute but it's ok, or as my husband said they probably experienced some fools before and so they're trying to protect themselves against that kind of crowd) Overall, it is a great place for good quality sushi right here in DT NoHo. Prices are reasonable for normal menu items. Omakase cost us about $60 a person, and with some sake we looked at about $150 when we were done. Thank you."

"We had an overall bad experience. They need more staff, the waitress is very nice but was completely overwhelmed with the amount of work they had. The 3 people in the kitchen didn't seem to work nearly as hard as her. Nobody cleaned/emptied thetables after customers left. The water jar ran out and nobody refilled it. The food took forever to come out, and severalpatrons who arrived after us were served first (with the same food! . I could go on We ordered two stews with rice (thingsthat are premaid and ready to serve . It took an hour to get our food. We also ordered carrot juices, but after waiting for them45min, they only brought one out. A misunderstanding, these things happen... so we ordered a second one and waited... wefinished our food, and the second carrot juice wasn't there yet. The waitress told us that they ran out of carrots and that thejuices would take another 20min or so, because she had to go get and peel the carrots (on top of taking all the orders, makingteas and coffees, and bringing out food seriously, what is the kitchen staff doing? . She offered us an orange juice inreturn (half the price, not freshly squeezed Tropicana . We took two orange juices and left, very disappointed. The food isalso not great. The stews were pretty bland, and almost all the same (they just change the meat, but the juice and veggies areall the same so they aren't all part of one stew, meat and veggies just met when they serve you . The hummus platter was ok,not great but acceptable, but the pita was absolutely dry, like old pita that has been heated up and let cool down like apiece of paper. Sooo... yeah, we are not coming back. But seriously, they need to hire some more people!"

"This place is fantastic! If you’re in Northampton, you absolutely have to check out Joe's Café. It truly offers the best pizza outside of New York—unless you’re talking about the original Regina Pizzeria in the North End of Boston, of course. The owners are down-to-earth and always available to make sure your food is perfect. The original decor adds to the genuine atmosphere of the restaurant. The spaghetti with mussels and clams is top-notch, and Joe's house special pizza is so delicious you might just overindulge! Occasionally, the waiter can be a bit grumpy (to be fair, it's more like he’s often grumpy), but the outstanding food makes it all worthwhile."

"For years I have eaten at this restaurant and had never had a bad meal. This past week I ate there and ordered a dish that came out cold and didnt look right or taste good. I told the waiter that and I ordered another dish. I expected them to take off the dish that was cold and didnt taste right off my bill. The manager/owner refused to do so and lost a loyal customer and as one lovely young waitresses told me I was a great tipper that night. The friend I brought along with me that night was disgusted about the whole thing and also refuses to ever go back. I have enjoyed the service of the lovely young lady that has served me kindly and faithfully whenever I have eaten there. To the owner/management- it is foolish to refuse to comp a loyal customer who eats there multiple times a month for years than to refuse to remove a dish that cost you less than $8.00 to make.
