"Service was pretty slow, good if you are there with friends to have a relaxed dinner. The staff were friendly but not all over you which is appreciated. The food was ok not brilliant, we tried a variety of dishes and they were fine no real complaints but didn't blow us away. Food was good. Waiters were friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a wait for the food but the waiter checked in on us frequently. They ran out of forks and comically overfilled our water glasses, but that added to the experience of the evening.

Our first time at what might be the best (new) Japanese restaurant in Westchester! The freshest sushi, the most amazing fried crab dumplings ever, and the Koi roll with salmon/avocado/scallop/tobiko the toro with uni caviar below. Will definitely be back! ️ View menu

We saw the reviews and decided to give this place a try. We parked at a meter and needed quarters because the app to park wasn't working. The guy at the front claimed they didn't have any and told us to use the app. He didn't really care that the app wasn't working, so he lost our business. We won't be back!

However, the food was disappointing… Tempura was stale and the noodles were over cooked. And the food came out really late when there were only a few tables. It would be great if Akai enhances the quality of non sushi menu.
