Food was good but a bit overpriced probably cuz of location

Good food, great scenery. Very expensive. Expensive to get too and parking is difficult and expensive.

The decor beautiful! However service was very slow and food was tasteless. Very disappointed by the quality vs price. If you want a good Cuban sandwich go to cafecito View menu

Fantastic food. Lamb, baba ganoush, cauliflower, and others were amazing. Fun, potent, and delicious drinks. Super cool, comfortable space. Great, friendly service. Limited beer menu.

Love the decor and ambiance. So unique and every room looks different! The food was delicious — kind of Mediterranean with a twist. The cocktails were pretty good too! Loved the babaganoush. My only complaint is I wish it were a little less pricey, but I would say it’s overall worth it.

The view of the river is wonderful and ambiance is charming. The dishes are tapas/family style. We enjoyed everything from the oysters and papas huancaina to the cheeseburger and desserts. Actually, the cheeseburger was quite amazing — a must try! Also, loved dipping the fries in the goat cheese from the papas. YUM! ENJOY! View menu

We were celebrating Christmas week with all our kids- which does not happen very often- and we could not have chosen a better place to do it! The shared plates, taste of this, taste of that, along with the amazing cocktails both fueled and not fueled, the cozy seating, festive winter decor, right on the river!!! I could go on and on! 8 of us snuggled into the plush seating with killer views!

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great!!!! We sat at the bar and the bartender was rude and acted like he was bothered by working today! No one at the bar when we got here. But he definitely got busy! I got up to take a pic of a performance in the next room and he rudely stopped me as if I would interrupt! I'm in fine dining and I know basic etiquette at the least! Beatnik on the River, an outpost from the regular Beatnik over in West Town, is a great spot just a few blocks northwest from the Sears Tower, a spot that is easy to overlook if you're staying north of the river, or just hanging out on the riverwalk.
