"I love Japanese food. Of course, I’m not Japanese so I don’t claim to be an expert, but I probably go eat at new Japanese restaurants at least a couple times a month. And of all the Japanese restaurants in San Diego, Chopstix is my favorite, by far. At first glance, it seems like just another typical Asian place on Convoy with an all too small parking lot. But step inside and you’ll see that the quality and variety of food (multiple types of Ramen, Udon, Soba, etc. , the reasonable prices, and the quick and friendly service makes this a can’t miss eatery if you’ve never tried it. I’ve been here three different times, for both lunch and dinner, and the place is always reasonably crowded, but never intolerably packed (my uncle, who judges the quality of a restuarant by the length of its wait, would be pleased . Inside the atmosphere is one that gives off a Japanese feel, without the formal setting of more elegant restaurants. There are bar type seats as well as regular tables, and a tv in th corner. It’s not so quiet that you have to whisper and not so loud that you have to yell to be heard. In other words, great for family or friends type of a gathering. There are a couple of cons, though. The sushi selection is rather limited (compared to sushi specialty places , and the place isn’t huge, so you can’t expect to sit together if you have around ten or more people. And the parking is a pain. But I consider these to be minor inconveniences. So order a green tea, try something new, and hit up the Yogurt World or Tapioca Express across the street afterwards. What more could you ask for?"

Good filling tasty food. Large portions and great flavor. Veggies were not overcooked, very good. I plan on coming here again with my friend! I had the Ramen with chicken and veggies. Delicious!

Consistently Good<br/ <br/ This tiny café in a small strip mall serves a variety of Japanese noodles, rice dishes, and bento plates. Service is speedy, price is right, and the bathroom is super clean. The downside is finding parking in the busy adjacent lot.

Closest noodles to Tokyo street food. All noodle dishes are amazing , also try the Crunchy Roll, the dinners that include the chicken and pork breaded with panko.I don't like the japanese curry but I see a ton of locals ordering it, it's an acquired taste.Busy and quick service. View menu

Thank god this place is open during the day after the lunch time!! I usually dislike going around convoy area with crowds and traffic, but we found this place to eat at 2pm! Very affordable price and good sushi! Love the salmon rolls. Quiet peaceful inside restaurant I felt so relax. Nice staffs and fast service.

Surprisingly good. When a friend suggested we go to Chopstix, I was like, isn't that some sort of chain? when we walked into the place, I was still dubious, especially when I saw so many non asians in the place. (ha) But then, to my surprise, their food is good. I am very picky about ramen and even decided to go out of my comfort zone and instead of the usual shoyu ramen I tried a spicy ramen with ground pork, and it was out of this world (sorry I don't remember the name of it). The crunchy sushi was good.

Noodles fast, not fast food. Little shop with very close table offers a huge assortment of noodles. Ramen, udon, soba and yakitori (stir-fry) all offered with at least 15 combinations of each. There is also a small sushi roll selection as well as a choice of tempura. Service is friendly and very quick so if it's your 1st visit you'll feel pressured to order when there is so much to read. Menu is 6 pages long! <br/ <br/ Parking can be tight but the table turnover is quick so a space will become available soon. View menu

If you plan on eating here, I would suggest avoiding peak hours of lunch and dinner. Convoy is a very busy place and parking can be difficult. I am rather picky when it comes to chicken katsu as I compare it to what I had when I lived in Okinawa. I was expecting to get the typical maki rolls that other places would give in a bento box, along with just 2 or 4 rolls. I was blown away by the amount of rolls you get. Their chicken katsu totally blew me away. This is authentic. This is exactly how katsu should taste like: juicy and a nice crisp. Was honestly perfect and it reminded me of eating at the old school Popeyes off of Kadena Gate 2. From the bento box to the taste. Super delicious food a...

FANTASTIC QUICK JAPANESE CUISINE!!. This isn't rocket science, but it is great food!! And if you are looking for fast and friendly, this is it. Always full, but tables move really fast!<br Try the Soba Noodles, the Asian Curry* ask first, has an acquired taste! and my favorite... Ton Chi Katsu Don, the Don means meal, the Ton Chi Katsu is ala carte otherwise. This yummy dish is panko breaded pork and chicken cutlets, served with rice, miso soup and a small salad and Japanese steak sauce for dipping your meat in.<br Start with the Crunchy roll...Oh My very good. And if you order a Japanese beer, you can get a choice of 1 appetizer from the list of 3 or 4 appetizers for .99 cents.<br <br Also...
