"I have been trying to go to D' Caribbean for the longest. When I first came across this place, my wife and I were in the same shopping center and I just happened to notice the place. With my family being from Jamaica, I just had to stop in and try some of this Caribbean food. Unfortunately, this was the one day of the week that they are closed during the week, Monday. I would have to wait until another day. The opportunity finally presented itself, my birthday. I rarely eat out and D' Caribbean would be the place that I would pickup some food for my birthday. It was long overdue and right on time since I was making a permanent conversion to vegetarian the following Monday. I was torn between the curry chicken and the jerk chicken. Chicken was the only meat I was eating at the time since I gave up beef and pork in the 90s and seafood last year. I went with the large curried chicken (bone-in) with rice beans. The curried chicken comes with the choice of bone-in or boneless and served with rice and beans or white rice or veggie fried rice with salad and plantains included. I also ordered a veggie patty, ginger beer, and currant roll. When I arrived to pickup my order, I had a pleasant conversation with the owners. We spoke as if we've known each other for years. Good Vibes all around. I am glad that I chose my birthday to finally make my way to D' Caribbean. After we finished our conversation, I headed home to indulge myself in my long awaited meal. It was well worth the wait. Everything was well prepared and cooked to perfection. I'm at a loss for words because I cannot describe the food any better. The chicken was tender, the rice beans were cooked just right, and the plantains were oh my goodness. The veggie patty was very good, but I would love to see like a double stuffed veggie patty since I've converted to vegetarian. Just throwing a little hint. This was my first time having a currant roll and I really enjoyed it. Ofcourse, no meal is complete without a ginger beer to wash it down. I want to thank D' Caribbean for the fantastic meal. Although I'm a vegetarian now, I'll still be stopping by to pickup some vegetarian dishes. This is definitely the spot for great Carribean food."

While the portion sizes were generous, I found the flavors lacking. The curry boneless chicken wasn’t as tasty as the potatoes, which were the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the oxtails didn’t have much flavor at all. I regret my choice and realize I should have ordered their specialty, Roti. Moving forward, I will stick to ordering Roti from them. It is not Jamaican Authentic Food at all. Cabbage was old looking and taste old. Plantains were dry and horrible tasting due to being microwaved and not made fresh. The boneless curry chicken was dry even with the curry sauce all over it. Rice and beans was JUST okay. The Coco bread tasted store bought. So far the only thing I?m okay with is the chicken patty and it was not that tasty at all.

What an outstanding spot for your fix of Caribbean food!!!! The menu is simple but the service there is so awesome and they are always ready to help you place your order. The portions are big enough to share yes even the small sizes. The food was hot and delicious; took me right back to my childhood and my mama's cooking! The guy helping me was so warm and friendly and even added bread with chickpeas in my order. We will absolutely be back!!!

We live in Pearland, just down the street from the Curry Spot, but whenever we crave Trini food (I was born in Trinidad), we usually drive an hour to Katy for J&D because their food is simply better. Last night, we decided to give the Curry Spot another chance, and it reminded us exactly why we prefer J&D. The curry chicken was tough and chewy, poorly seasoned, and lacked flavor. The curry shrimp was small and mushy, with no hint of freshness. The portions of roti were also quite small, and the channa in the doubles was very minimal. Every time we visit, even if we call in our order well in advance, we still end up waiting at least 20 minutes or more for them to package our food when we arri... View menu

My son and I buy the rotten skin and coke bread quite often, excellent. We tried to buy other articles from here, but his always a disappointment. The rice and any type of noodles they add to rice and beans were dried. As it was set all day and scratched off from the sides or the bottom of the pot. The chicken and beef patties were dried. The cabbage over boiled and the Ruck Chicken is not jerking at all. I usually don't leave any reviews of this nature, but I wasted my hard-earned money with these people several times in honest hopes that it would be better. I'm from Jamaican and Belizean. I know Caribbean food very well. It's sad to say that this restaurant doesn't just miss the brand. I j...

The rice and whatever pasta type of little noodles they add to the rice and beans was driedout/crunchy. Like it had set all day and been scraped from the sides or bottom of the pot. The chicken and beef patties weredried up. The cabbage over cooked and the jerk chicken is not jerked at all. "Killen’s BBQ in Texas is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece, offering an authentic and unforgettable barbecue experience. From the moment you walk in, the rich aroma of smoked meats welcomes you, promising a feast like no other. The brisket at Killen’s is the crown jewel—perfectly marbled, tender, and bursting with smoky flavor. Each slice melts in your mouth, leaving you craving more. The ribs are another highlight, with a beautifully caramelized bark that gives way to juicy, succulent meat. And if you’re a fan of pulled pork, theirs is simply outstanding, packed with deep, smoky goodness and seasoned to perfection. The sides are just as impressive. The mac and cheese is creamy and decadent, with just the right amount of cheese pull, while the creamed corn offers a sweet and savory balance that complements the smoky meats perfectly. The coleslaw is crisp and refreshing, providing a nice contrast to the richness of the barbecue. What truly sets Killen’s apart is the attention to detail and commitment to quality. The meats are smoked low and slow, ensuring that every bite is infused with deep, complex flavors. The service is friendly and efficient, making you feel right at home in this cozy, laid-back setting.
