As Usual 5 Stars! This is my First stop when I land in Chicago! Always Fresh cooked when ordered.

Food was fantastic! Presentation was great as well, really enjoyed touring the kitchen and watching the chefs work. Will definitely be back

A truly extraordinary amazing dinner. Philip Foss is a genius. We brought friends who were first timers (our fifth time), who were equally blown away and can't wait to return!!

I don't know if there's a better restaurant in Chicago. El ideas is always an excellent experience. The menu is phenomenal, the service and attention to detail feel like you're at a friend's home. The lack of pretention while performing at this level is unique. If you're thinking about it, book it. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

EL Ideas, upon their 10th anniversary, continues to be a tremendous destination for delicious, creative prix fixe dining with casual but gracious service. Their pricing, combined with no cost corkage, also makes it a good deal considering the excellence of the food. Not inexpensive, in a strange neighborhood, but well worth a visit for those who love eating whatever the chef feels like serving. We recently enjoyed our 4th visit and look forward to the next one!! Absolutely disappointing… made reservations through online portal for my wife's birthday over 2 weeks prior and they told me via email that their website had a “glitch” 2 days prior to our reservation. This place came Highly recommended by our friends but they didn't have the decency to call me that our reservation was cancelled. We visited El Ideas yesterday and enjoyed every minute of it. From the moment you walk in and your coats are hung by the entrance, it truly feels like visiting a welcoming friend's house. The Chef-Owner is welcoming and grounded. The ice bucket is already awaiting our BYOB, and the decor is so easy to feel at home with. EL Ideas markets itself as a BYOB Michelin starred restaurant minus the frills, where dinner should feel more like a warm family gathering rather than a distant dinner night out on the town. To this end, they achieved this environment and then some, providing amazing, thoughtful plates while remaining rooted to their ideals.
