"Fair warning, when you enter the very small restaurant you are sort of greeted by the cook/waiter, she is salty and direct, but attentive. At first I was annoyed, but after we sat inside, most seating on the sidewalk, we had a good meal. Food and drinks came out fast. All the complaints here about no pricing on the menu has been resolved. We saw pricing. Not cheap, each dish for our party was well over 20.00 for each breakfast savory item. The food is good, they know how to make eggs, which is a big deal for me. Not too large or too small of portions, great greens with protein. I got the avocado toast with smoked salmon, my son had the French toast, and my mother got a croissant sandwich, all well done. If you are looking for amazing decor, friendly sweet service, don't come here. Oh and the comments about the area, it's completely safe, and urban. Sounds like some of the people commenting here need to go back to fisherman's wharf."

Got avo toast. Was ok, but for 13$ I hoped it would be on a chunk of sourdough, not a sandwich bread.

The food was so fresh and staff very friendly. The coffee was equally delicious with homemade plant milk options.

I ordered the avocado toast, which was just alright. For $13, I was expecting it to be served on sourdough rather than regular sandwich bread.

Update menu online to reflect menu to be accurate for vegans. I walked here to be told the vegan food online is not the same as their menu which had none

HC states that it's open Monday to Friday, but I discovered it's closed on Thursdays after making the trip there. The café's website confirms this. They should update this information.

Charming little place with excellent service. The egg sandwich was delicious, but I found the mocha to be overly sweet, resembling hot chocolate (I'm not sure if that's typical in the States). View menu

This café is definitely worth a visit! It's a bustling little coffee shop that you shouldn't miss if you're nearby. I ended upordering more food than I usually do because I was captivated by how it was prepared. I'm really glad I found this spot!

It's a charming little spot run by a single person, offering the fresh food quality and attentive service that we all hope to find when we decide to try a local eatery in a big city. The breakfast sandwich and the chia "pudding" granola bowl were clearly labeled as vegan on the menu, and both were absolutely delightful. We're planning to return tomorrow morning for the steel-cut oats, which the owner prepares only on alternate days due to the lengthy process involved, requiring an early start to have them ready by opening time. Who still goes to that effort anymore? There are a few indoor tables for two, along with outdoor seating in the uniquely designed "parklet" that the owner has thought...

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
