"Decided to hit up a local brewery and chose here with my gal and best freind. Food: Exceptional. We had the Buffalo Cauliflower for an appetizer and it was awesome. We all ordered a different burger and each of couldn 't stop bragging we 'd ordered the best one. Because they all came out great. Service: Outstanding! Our hostess went out of her way to ensure we ordered the right beverages. She brought us a sample of each beer they made. Her personality was warm, friendly, and caring. BTW, her name is Kelly. And she was hands down one of the best servers we 've had in a long time. Atmosphere: Cozy Comfortable. This place feels like your at a mountain lodge only decked out with some of most unique dog art we 'd ever seen. It provided us with visual aesthetically entertaining dog features in every direction. If that wasn 't stimulating enough, they also had multiple televisions set up running several sports games to capture your attention. It all made for a very enjoyable experience. Update!!!: Third Times a Charm Three visits to date since first checking this place out and BAMMM every time they consistently leave us extremely pleased we went there! They 've got excellent food without question but going out and enjoying truly yourself requires a step above the rest. Lazy Dog of Ventura 's atmosphere is that of a cozy lodge like setting yet found in location you 'd almost never expect. And best of all, their staff consistantly provides patrons with superior attitudes, personalized attention, and a unquestably joyful experience. Nat was our recently host server 's name. And he like the others there flat knocked it out the park! BTW, he went out of his way to give us a few cool alternative places to go out and have a good time at. It was like having a hip local tour guide tell us where the local in places where located. We found Nat is also a talented Pianist that plays regularly at a place called, The Grape. We 'll definitely be checking that venue out. If his music is anything like his presence we 're bound to have an equally great time. Thanks Nat! And thanks to the management for having the insight to maintain a great team of folks for us consumers! PS The Tortilla soup is flipping awesome!!!"

"I 'm going to start off by saying 'sorry ' but this review is not going to favor the restaurant! First of all I 'm reviewing TOMAS CAFE IN OXNARD CALIFORNIA not SF. We have eaten breakfast at Tomas ' many times both before and after Covid. Having said that we have eaten at various restaurants throughout the county, so I am comparing them when referencing my issues with Tomas Cafe. When first walking into the restaurant there is no one there to greet you nor are any of the tables 'set up '. Finally when someone does come out to welcome you to their fine establishment we 're told that we can view the menu, which is spread out over the counter, and order. After putting in our orders we are told to sit at any table (tables without any napkins or silverware. When our food arrives it is on paper plates, which aren 't even pretty, accompanied with plastic forks! My husband will try Mexican breakfast meals as well as traditional plates. I love a country style breakfast with bacon or sausage as I am not a big breakfast person. But I have always told my husband 'how can you screw up a breakfast of bacon and eggs? ' Well what does it say about breakfast when all you can compliment are the eggs on your plate? My sausage links were really sad, the potatoes were poorly seasoned and the bell pepper and onion were just thrown on top! The Chile verde my husband ate was just mediocre and the beans and rice needed more flavor. I 'm sorry but I missed not having a person come over to ask if 'everything was ok '. As I said we have eaten out many times since the shutdown, also known Covid, and there are plenty of restaurants which are still greeting you as you enter and visiting your table to ensure you have a good experience. One final thought, I would not have left the tip I left when I ordered if I knew I would be as disappointed as I was. Sadly we will not be returning."
