"WHY DOES THIS PLACE HAVE 4.5 RATING!!! I wish I looked further into the reviews before eating here because there were others that felt the same . Me and my fiancé are from Olympia Washington so we were heavily relying on reviews for everywhere we have been going on our vacation. Outside of this restaurant looked very nice. Walking in, everything was wide open and very plain . Floors were gross , tables were gross , walls were gross , the “bar” looked like a run down deli . The bathrooms were disgusting. I honestly wanted to leave at the sight of this place and I wish I trusted my instincts but we decided to stay due to the reviews . The chef was friendly . However , I noticed immediately his tray he walked out with was filthy . All the containers for sauce were dripping , the butter bowl was used with food drippings all over it like it had been used all night . All his sauce bottles were filthy . The rice had so much soy sauce added then to top it off he added their secret sauce . Also the eggs added to the rice still had shells !! The vegetables were way too salty and over cooked . The shrimp weren’t deveined . We both ordered filet mignon , the chef put it on the grill and immediately cut the steaks into uneven pieces . We have been to many Japanese steakhouses and always order filet mignon, it’s such a tender , beautiful piece of meat . Usually they let it cook a bit before slicing . We like the meat to be medium rare . However due to the uneven pieces , the larger pieces were RARE and tasted alive still . Mignon I can usually eat pretty rare and it’s delicious. I was super let down with this whole meal. My fiancé also ordered yakisoba which was also dripping in their damn secret sauce which is quite disgusting. Overall everything was so salty and not good . The waitress was definitely on drugs . Her mouth wouldn’t stop moving and never came to see if we wanted anything else after our initial order . We won’t be back ."

Has changed over the last year. Prices up across the menu, soup or salad not both, and portions cut by 25% (rice and vegetables). Great service, management (Isaiah), and chef.

I don’t know why this place has so many stars. One star is only for waitress. She was very sweet. Staff prepared food without gloves and masks. The food quality is bad. Look at those avocado slices

Visibly understaffed. They didn’t start cooking the food until over an hour after we got there, and we knew what we wanted and were ready to order within 5 minutes. If the one waitress wasn’t so overworked I might have not tipped.

The cook was amazing and the food delicious. We had a reservation but still had to wait almost an hour. They were not very busy and the waitress was not very attentive. We had to ask for our drinks a few times. Then we were charged an automatic gratuity because there were 8 of us. Very disappointing!!

We were apprehensive after reading recent reviews, but this place was actually pretty good! We arrived around 11:30 am, and we were the only table for teppanyaki. We were joined by two other people, and enjoyed a great show, including some tricks I’ve not seen at other places. The food was great, the service attentive, and entertaining to eat. The fried rice was better than other places I’ve been. They add sesame seeds for something different. I’d definitely go back. View menu

Another downside is that if you come with someone and one of you orders sushi while the other orders from the grill, the meals will not arrive together. In fact, they may come as much as 45 minutes apart, which can be awkward for a couple trying to decide whether to eat or wait for each other. One time, only part of my partner’s meal arrived, and his rice didn’t show up until 20 minutes later. From now on, it looks like we’ll be sticking to the grill for a more consistent dining experience.

We were skeptical after reading the recent reviews, but this place turned out to be quite good! We arrived at 11:30 and were the only table for teppanyaki at the time. Two other guests joined us, and we enjoyed a fantastic show, complete with some tricks I hadn't seen at other places. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and entertaining. The fried rice was even better than what I've had elsewhere, and they swapped sesame seeds for something different. Overall, I had a great experience!

"On April 29, 2022 I ate in White House Grill for the first time. My wife and 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son were part of a 13-person party that gathered to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. What a fun place to eat! We sat at a long table in the back of the restaurant and had a truly unforgettable time. First the food. My wife ordered the Turkish cigars as an appetizer and I must be honest and say they were not really my cup of tea. I was hoping for a bigger cheese balance than spinach balance, but this is just the way things go. My midwife made my wife happy because it meant more Turkish cigars for her. I ordered the chicken burger for my entrée. The large piece of delicate, garlic-y chicken was between a Brezel chicken and was so good. I enjoyed the seasoned French fries and could eat everyone. My wife ordered the chicken Rome and let me tell you that the chicken breast was on the point! Tasteful and tasteful, I could not go to waste after my wife stops eating it simply because her stomach had reached capacity. I must point out that the pasta with it was a little burned with a sponge consistency. Maybe the cured chicken ravioli was best. I'm a big curry fan and the White House ravioli makes it right. The menu describes the sauce as “rich” and this is really the best way to describe it. It's really a rich, tasteful dish. A children's menu is offered and my daughter got spaghetti and my son got a grilled cheese sandwich. I want to make the value. It's excellent. Portions are large and menu prices are low compared to average restaurant costs. It's a win-win! You can get appetizers for around $5, many Entrees will be in the $11-$13 row, and children's menu options will run in the $4.50-$6 row. You don't feel demolished or cheated here. You pay a fairly small price for a large amount of delicious food. Next you have the atmosphere. As I mentioned, the White House Grill is a fun place to eat. The restaurant layout is quirky with several different sections throughout the room. But no matter where you are at the point that a-of-a-type of roasted strong garlic odour will inspire your nose. Acoustics in the restaurant do not offer silent dining room experience in any way, but it is not too loud to have an audible, space-level conversation at your table. Lighting is dimmed and relaxed/romantic. All the charms you meet in the White House will help in a pleasant experience. Last but not least, I would like to praise the service. Kailie was our server and from the moment we set ourselves when we left at the end of the night, she worked off her dick. She was kind, and all the time, she put herself in the face with a smile. She was easy to talk and the order of our big party came perfect. She completed her crew to sing my sister-in-law "joy birthday" and she liked to serve a cake we brought from home. My wife and I ordered so and she was attentive to bring us refills when she noticed that our glass was low. We all really appreciate Kailie's efforts. I recommend the White House Grill as it delivers in every way. I look forward to having dinner there again and recommending it to friends."
