"We had an unforgettable evening at SAN CARLO Osteria Piemonte! From the moment we walked in, the warmth and authenticity of the atmosphere set the stage for an extraordinary meal. Domenico, Alberto, Feliz, and Maurizio—each of whom brought a true Italian spirit—created a welcoming environment that felt like dining in the heart of Italy. Their attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and deep knowledge of the cuisine were remarkable. The food was simply divine, with flavors that transported us to Italy. Each dish was crafted with care, and the team's recommendations were spot-on. It’s rare to experience such a combination of exceptional service and exquisite dining. This team made our dinner not just a meal but an experience we will remember fondly. SAN CARLO Osteria Piemonte is truly a gem, thanks to Domenico, Alberto, Feliz, and Maurizio—grazie mille to you all!"

"This was my third visit to Loring Place. Every dish from appetizer to dessert has been creative, fresh and delicious each and every time. The service is beyond compare. I highly recommend Loring Place for anything from a casual lunch to a special occasions dinner. (I particularly like bringing out-of-town friends there and am already planning my next visit!"

"I’ve been to India a couple times and have to say, this is one of the best authentically Indian restaurants in the city I’ve been to. The place is small and simply decorated but it’s all about the food and friendly service here and that’s where it really shines. Some of the dishes they have you wouldn’t find at most other Indian restaurants. The chicken PB 35 was a new one for me but such a beautiful marriage of flavors. And for other more typical dishes like saag paneer they give it their own spin preparing in that case a wonderful, almost rustic home style version that’s both familiar and new. My only small complaint was that the fish curry was a tad on the salty side, but the flavors were still very much on point. I’ll be back! One final note They don’t serve alcohol but a sign on the door says they allow BYOB if you care to bring your own. Another plus in my book!"

"This is a great place. We arrived at a quiet time on New Year's day and the place filled up while we ate a wonderful meal of excellent sushi and sashimi with wine and green tea. The servers were attentive and helpful with suggestions about which specials might appeal based on our other preferences--which proved quite accurate. We had a great time!"

"A True Hidden Gem! We were staying at a hotel down the road from Zen and were looking for a quick and easy dinner—what a great choice it turned out to be! The ambiance was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious, all at a very reasonable price. Wenti was wonderful; she went above and beyond for us, constantly refilling our water, clearing the tables, and ensuring we were enjoying our meal. We also visited during Happy Hour, which allowed us to enjoy an abundance of food and drinks at an incredibly good value. This was by far my favorite dinner on our trip to New York, and we will definitely return next time!"

"Ginger root is one of our favorite vegan restaurants! It is the most amazing take out and now eating here in person, it is just as impressive! The food came so quickly and with two complimentary miso soups that were delicious. The general tsoi “chicken” is crispy and saucy: a real treat! All the noodle dishes have such an addicting yet light sauce with a variety of mixed veggies, we have such a hard time choosing which to get! Finally, their eggplant string beans dish comes as an extremely generous portion and has such a unique and delicious flavor. These dishes also come with perfectly cooked rice and soy beans. Eating this in person has been delightful as the staff is extremely attentive and continues to try to make your experience the best. We also truly appreciate how reasonable the prices here are for these delicious dishes! We will be coming here for as long as we live in NYC, and highly recommend to everyone!"

"My boyfriend and I were visiting the Big Apple from the UK. We stumbled across the 100 plant based Spring Cafe for lunch on the way downtown. It is a small place, meant mainly for takeout, but there are a few seats inside and outside. Inside is light and modern, decorated beautifully with plants. We both went for the Hawaiian Vegan Burger with fries and a Hibiscus ice tea. It was absolutely delicious! And good value for money. I cannot recommend it enough."

"Came here with my boyfriend for a quick dinner on a weekday night. I got the hot tingly beef mince banmen and he got the tonkatsu ramen. I love the beef mince banmen a lot! It didn't look like it had enough sauce at first but once I mixed it through, it was actually perfect. I really like the chewiness of the noodle and the cucumber added freshness to the dish. The tonkatsu ramen also tasted great even though it tasted more like a Chinese noodle soup dish than a ramen. The chashu was very flavorful and tender and the egg was well cooked! Everything came out really fast and the servers were very nice. Will come back in the future and definitely recommend!"

"Very delicious Italian sandwich spot in the West Village. We went around 11:00 AM on a Sunday and there was no line. We ordered the Italian special, which comes with prosciutto, ham, sopressata, mozzarella, red peppers, tomatoes, and lettuce. The sandwich itself was huge easily fed two people and was great value, especially for New York. The ingredients all tasted very fresh and high quality, and the red peppers added great flavor. I was worried the sandwich might be a bit bland, but it wasn't at all. Highly recommend grabbing a sandwich and taking it to the Hudson River park trust, which is around a 10 minute walk away, to enjoy, since it is a grab and go spot. Will definitely be back to try their other sandwiches and the fried ravioli!"

"I discovered this restaurant on their opening day shortly after moving to the US and craving some good, healthy, and tasty clean food. Chamoun's Way did not disappoint. Everything was delicious and fresh. It has been almost 9 months now and I have ordered food for myself and my family at least 20 times a month. I just can't get enough! Besides the amazing food, the two owners, who are brothers, are incredibly kind and welcoming. They love children and make them feel right at home. They are always generous, friendly, and smiling. My children love eating here too. My youngest is obsessed with the chicken shawarma and has finished off an entire plate in just over a month! I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed. It's more than just a restaurant, it's like a second family."

"Amazing! The tempura here is so good. You get a tray of side dishes and then get served pieces as they are cooked. The shrimp was my favorite, and the uni wrapped in seaweed (additional $20) dipped in the salt was delicious. The service is A quality. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the overall dining experience and the lunch was very reasonably priced at $55 for the set menu. Would definitely come back."

"What a fantastic birthday celebration at Jose Luis! ?I celebrated my 27th birthday here, and it was truly a night to remember. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was enchanting, setting the perfect mood for a special occasion. The owner/host, Jose himself, was the life of the party! He greeted us with a warm smile, made sure we felt right at home, and even joined in on the celebration. It felt like we were guests at his own soirée.The food? Out of this world! The flavors danced on my taste buds, and I couldn't get enough. Whether it was the sizzling paella or the delectable flan for dessert, every bite was a delight. But what truly sets Jose Luis apart is the way they make you feel. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience filled with laughter, great company, and, of course, mouthwatering dishes. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just indulge in fantastic food with a side of warmth and hospitality, look no further than Jose Luis. You won't be disappointed! ???"

"Gadfly Bar is a cozy neighborhood lounge with a speakeasy vibe, featuring brick walls and Chesterfield sofas. A recent visit included a well-crafted whiskey sour and a happy hour offering $2 off house cocktails, beer, and wine. The bar's “Gadfries,” crispy Belgian fries with truffle mayo, were great for sharing. The atmosphere was laid-back, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, it’s a spot in Chelsea that offers quality drinks, tasty bites, and a welcoming ambiance. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"Gotta love Mama Jo’s cart. Mama Jo is so friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. Is it the best breakfast sandwich you will have? The egg and cheese on a roll tasted like any other one I have had but it is served with love. The weekly special is a great deal. It is a breakfast sandwich, donut, and juice for $7. What a deal. I will come back when in the area. Nice gem on the east side."

"The usual average food and below average service in a nice setting. I don't think the manager or head waiter overlooks new waiters or any working waiters well because the same slow issue has been consistent over the past year or more. Attitude of my last waitress was poor. In comparison to the numerous other West V restaurants, food is average or a little below. Excellent wine list."

"the best experiences are sometimes random! a friend thrown away in a doctor's office and searched for local coffee shops. this came up, and to boot, coffee is purchased from puerto rico (where I come from). the place is super cozy (read them small, but great mood.) they had pastellillos de guayaba, which I took up with a straight laugh. the taste of the latte was unique (most coffee is made from Colombia) the barista was friendly and very attentive to all. covid side, this would be a great joint to meet for a quick coffee right."

"Staff was very kind and the food was great.Had a small iced coffee and the peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat (I can’t remember the name that was on the menu) and it was the perfect breakfast. The sandwich is super filling, could easily be split between 2 people. And again, the staff was incredibly kind and enjoyable to be around.
