"If you're looking for a memorable meal, look no further than Le Veau D'Or. While some may casually drop by for a quick bite, this iconic French restaurant carries an air of sophistication that makes it ideal for special occasions. In a world of rushed meals and inexperienced servers, Le Veau D'Or stands out not just for its timeless menu of French bistro classics, such as the Carre d'Agneau Roti, but also for the leisurely pace it encourages. Surrounded by diners who truly appreciate taking their time to savor each dish and engage in meaningful conversation, you're reminded that rushed dining can be a disservice—not only to your enjoyment but also to the chefs who dedicate their careers to mastering the art of fine cuisine and service. Every dish on our table was expertly crafted and beautifully presented. I particularly love ordering dishes that are challenging to prepare at home, and the Céleri rémoulade was a delightful first course. The Coq au Vin that followed was incredibly tender; it felt like I was enjoying a slow-braised rooster rather than just any factory chicken. The highlight of the meal was a seemingly simple yet incredibly flavorful rum parfait, where the rum blended perfectly with a rich coffee ice cream, thanks to the skilled touch of our waiter. Le Veau D'Or is not a flashy or pretentious establishment. In fact, it does very little to draw attention to itself, and its patrons appreciate this understated ambiance. Those who understand and value the artistry of a well-cooked meal in a picturesque setting devoid of unnecessary fanfare and hype are precisely the customers that Chef de Cuisine M. Gerard Vidal aims to attract. They come, dine, and leave utterly satisfied, already looking forward to their next visit."

This is not to be missed. A truly wonderful transport into the history of classic French cuisine. Absolutely the best.

A lovely evening. Not being an expert in French cuisine, I would still say that Le Veau D'Or provides a very nice French bistro experience. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere delightful. I would definitely return to this unassuming place and recommend it to my friends.

Wonderful food. Server was very kind. People seem to dress up (men w/ ties, women in nice blouses or dresses), but no one commented on our more casual dress. Seemed to be frequented by a number of regulars, but the server attended to us as well. Just make sure to catch her attention when you want to order or get the check. View menu

I hadn't visited this restaurant in over 40 years and was surprised to find that it still exists. It truly feels like a classic French establishment that has maintained its charm over the years. While the place may have faded, it holds onto its age gracefully, much like an elderly lady who, despite showing signs of wear, still carries herself with pride. I would recommend this restaurant for a simple, good meal in a setting that has endured in a world where so many others have not. There's no pretentiousness here, although you might catch a hint of that characteristic French arrogance.

This place is like a time capsule. It is a throwback to the days when a fancy meal meant French food. That said, I have had mostly positive experiences at this place. I have seen the owner be a bit temperamental, but I have never personally experienced this (but I speak French so that may be why). Please do yourself a favor and look at the menu online and do a bit of research on exactly what is what. i think the misunderstandings between owner and patron are due to people not knowing what they are ordering. for example, I saw a couple get quite upset when they ordered steak tartare and realized it was chopped raw steak (its very tasty by the way) a little bit of research would have gone a lo...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
