The ingredients don't taste fresh; they seem like they were previously frozen and just thawed out. The Orens in Palo Alto is excellent, so I’m surprised they would risk their reputation by associating with such subpar food. The falafel sandwich lacked fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, instead featuring a stale mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. The sauces were barely present. I won’t be ordering from this place again. @orens, if I were you, I wouldn’t market this as falafel under the Orens name."

I did not realize when ordering from DoorDash that this was not from the restaurant direct but was instead from Noshery. The tahini was congeiled, the chicken tasted like reheated rubbery chicken, and the rice was definitely not fresh.

I ordered a fattoush salad and what was delivered was a glorified large serving of cucumber salsa. No flavor, not even a trace of salt, and for $17 dollars?! I feel like this is poorly named, falsely advertised should NOT be named a fattoush salad.

I've had my first disappointing meal from Oren's in nearly a decade. The rice was strange, brown, and fried—not basmati. The falafel was excessively salty; it made me gag. Half of the meal was inedible. Additionally, I searched high and low for utensils, but there was no option to include them with my order, and they didn't arrive. "Great space with a great nighttime ambiance! No wait for a table on a Sunday night, which I appreciated. Plenty of outdoor seating, although that may have had a wait. All of the staff was very pleasant and brought out our drinks and food quickly. The cheesy garlic bread was AMAZING. It does look a bit like a pizza bread from your local pizza joint, but 15x better. Favorite thing from my time there. The teriyaki skirt steak was good and had a bit more umami than k expected. The potatoes were great as well and we swapped green beans for broccoli, which was cooked nicely. The Town [sushi] Roll was decent. Had way more sauce than I expected and I would ask for less in the future, as it drowned out most of the taste from the roll. It came with a small side of seaweed salad which I appreciated. It was nice and filling for the amount provided and everything in it tasted fresh. Money wise, for an appetizer, two entrees and two alcoholic drinks, our total came out to right around $100 which isn’t terrible for the area and restaurant quality."

"This is now our go to sushi place in Redwood City. It’s been here 5 years…how are we just finding it?We sat at the sushi bar and we were very well taken care of by the guy (with great hair) preparing the sushi. We told him to surprise us and he served up deliciousness.Blue fin tuna, striped something from Japan, ocean trout, Japanese blue fish, hamachi toro, blue fin medium belly, salmon roll, San Francisco roll, another roll, salmon, shrimp nigiriI thought it was reasonably priced given what we ordered.We were there about 11:45 and we were the first ones there. We sat at the sushi bar and when we left, there were a few other occupied tables.Parking is tight."

"The Iron Gate has been traditionally a go-to source for a time for celebration and this time was no exception. I was a bit taken aback to note that the website menu was dated as of January 2022 and I was fearing spike hike prices. Thankfully, that was not the case. Our appetizers were tasty. Our caesar salad promised to be table prepared was not. The reason is that the place was too busy. And that is the major critique. The facility squeezes in too many tables to meet it demand. We felt crammed. The wait staff did an amazing job under the circumstances. Management might consider opening the bar area to diners to relieve the sardine effect. We'll go back again but it won't be on a busy night at a busy time."

"I'm a bit iffy on this place, but my wife loves their tacos. The people are kind, the place is safe and cozy, being there is pleasant. The food feels very expensive for what you get, and even the pastries aren't very good in my opinion. It just feels more like you're sitting in a cleverly disguised Denny's, not a quaint little cafe.I got eggs one day and they felt like you got them out of a carton, though if they really were or not I can't say, the almond croissant was... very dry.Again though, my wife loves their tacos and insists that they don't overload you with food either, which I admit is a plus. I just wish the price reflected this.This place is ok, I'm just not too much of a fan.Our table was under the red umbrella outside so the pictures have a bit of a red tint."
