"We were there a little after 2:OO slow time in most restaurants. The service was slow to start with, but being in the restaurant business I can give a little leeway. The margarita I order has mostly sour mix , no taste of tequila. Once again I ignored it and ordered our food. The food came and it was horrible. The corn was all mayo, not grilled and a tiny sprinkle of parmesan on the plate. The chicken was bone in dark meat and the carne was old. Our daughter’s corn was the same and her Colorado was bland one old tasting. The salsa tasted like puree plain tomato’s. They took off the plate my husband and I was sharing, and 50 percent off our corn. They refused to take off anything else even though we ate none of our meals. I would have been fine to pay for my daughters even though she ate nothing if they would have taken the full cost of the corn off. They called the manager on the phone of course she wasn’t there) and she did we had to pay for it or they would call the police. I had to pay or bad food we didn’t eat, bad service and rude employees. I have never in my 30 years of experience in the restaurant business have I seen a restaurant treat customers this way. Beware. "It seems they opted to serve subpar food rather than discard it and take a small loss on their inventory. This was during a busy lunchtime, around 12:20 to 12:30, when the food should be at its freshest. However, my recent experiences there have been quite the opposite. Perhaps the food is better during slower hours, or maybe they’re struggling with enough kitchen staff to maintain quality, especially given the challenges posed by COVID. If they continue in this direction, they risk losing their customers and, ultimately, their business because the food just wasn’t up to par."

"Hate to see that my favorite Hickory spot has taken a steep fall from grace. This used to be me and my girlfriend's weekly spot for years, then Covid came along and really took a toll. The past two times we've been (several months apart), we've waited about 30 minutes for someone to come to the table and even acknowledge our existence after being seated (and we typically reserve our seat ahead of time just to be safe). Both times they haven't been incredibly busy (I've seen a full house there many times before), and both times we've got up and left after the server seemed to get offended when asked if we can get a menu. I understand that there's a workforce shortage, but there seems to be a massive flaw in the way this place is managed. It's a sad shell of its former self. I'm sure the food's still adequate, but if you can't even get dishes out the door, then what's the point? They should either more effectively streamline tasks for the limited amount of employees they have, or transition to a take-out only restaurant. I truly hope 777 can make a comeback, but I'll have to give it a couple years."

"I almost left as soon as I walked in. There's a strong smell that is always present, which can be quite overwhelming for me, though my companions didn’t seem to notice it. However, the food is fantastic! The burgers are huge and flavorful, the tea is wonderful, and the wing sauce, specifically the 'Sweet Heat,' is among the best I've ever tasted. The menu selection could be better, but it’s not a dealbreaker. If they could address the smell, I would definitely become a regular customer."

"If you're searching for a fantastic dining experience, look no further! Whether it's just the two of you or a larger group celebrating a birthday, this is the place to be. The food is absolutely amazing, and they will gladly prepare it just the way you like. Our whole family loves it, including the little ones, and we travel from all over the area—Statesville, Granite Falls, Hudson—to eat here. I also appreciate the wait staff; they are always bustling about (which is a great sign), and if there’s a wait, it’s definitely worth it! Thank you, Zaul, and everyone at Casa Azul—we keep coming back 2 to 3 times a week!"
