"My wife and I met three other couples for dinner Saturday evening. For the most part all was good. We have dined at the Olive Tree many times over the last 3-4 years. The garlic rolls are phenomenal. All of our friends remarked how much they enjoyed their meal which ran the gamut of the menu. My wife loved her Manicotti and house salad. Unfortunately, my shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo didn’t quite measure up. When my entree was delivered to the table I noticed my dish wasn’t piping hot. Instead of a rich, creamy Alfredo sauce mine was slightly warmer than lukewarm and had begun coagulating. Due to the coagulation, the fettuccine pasta noodles clumped together. It was simply a mediocre entree that left much to be desired. Earlier in our dining experience, one of our party members requested some butter. She was quickly informed the restaurant does not have butter, only margarine. How does a nice Italian restaurant not have butter in the kitchen? Probably most chefs begin their recipes with “a stick of butter”. In addition, the garlic rolls were served on a large platter but we had to request individual bread plates. This has been the case at least on two previous visits to this restaurant. We enjoy the Olive Tree and will be back, I don’t think Fettuccine Alfredo will be on my list of entrees to order. Mike"
