The atmosphere at Westglow is ideal. Visit just before sunset to enjoy the stunning view of the mountain range and the beautiful afterglow from the porch. The food is outstanding, meeting the high standards you would expect from a Relais and Chateaux.

The porch attached to Rowland’s is the perfect place to soak up the mountains at sunset with a cocktail! We went just for drinks so can’t speak to the food, but the cocktails are fantastic and service is great. Grab a cocktail menu at the bar on your way in and then head outside to the porch. Cocktails are pricey $16) but it’s worth it for the peaceful surroundings and a great drink.

Beautiful setting. Staff were welcoming and gracious. Service was awful. We sat for 20 minutes at a time without seeing our server, having nothing to eat or drink. It took 2.5 hours to have 2 courses served to us. Food was mediocre. Both vegetables and seafood didn’t seem fresh. I would not recommend as there are better upscale options in the Blowing Rock area. This was a flawless dining experience. We have dined in some of the finest restaurants in the U.S., and I would rate this in the top 10. There are only 6 tables in the restaurant, so it is very intimate. We were encouraged to take our time because the table was ours for the evening. Our waitress, Savanah, was knowledgeable and attentive, but not intrusive. I had the pork medallions and my boyfriend had the lamb; both were perfectly prepared. After our meal, we sat on the porch and finished our wine, ordered dessert, and watched the sun go down. Dear General Manager, I recently received a voicemail informing me that my Labor Day brunch reservation for tomorrow has been cancelled. This decision was made only one day before our scheduled visit on a holiday weekend. This is a first for me, as I have never experienced such treatment at a Relais Chateau property. Upon calling your restaurant, I was informed that the full space has been reserved for a private party. While this may benefit your business, it is disappointing that customer service and retaining patrons does not seem to be a priority. There was no apology offered by your staff for the inconvenience. We had a reservation at Rowland's on Thanksgiving Day for their buffet, which cost $80 per person. A few days before, we confirmed our reservation by phone. However, when we arrived, we noticed they were sold out. It took some time for us to be seated, as they seemed unsure where to place us. Finally, we were seated at a table in the corner without any decorations, unlike the other tables. We later learned that a couple without reservations had arrived, causing us to be moved.
