"We had a very unfortunate experience here on new year's eve. It was our first time dining here and the food was okay nothing terrible but nothing outstanding either. Our drinks came out very late and one was not made per the request. The service was very poor and we felt sorry for our server after their confiding that they disliked the job and were looking for other work. Though we tipped our server 20% this was not what we are accustomed to in Raleigh and it is definitely not what I would expect for Lafayette Village which is advertised as a high end center. I would recommend that you go to any other sushi establishment in the area over this restaurant."

The food is always good and a great value. But the service is really Hit or Miss. Ask for Carol or the older lady she is awesome! They usually don't have enough servers, and they sometimes forget the order.

Birthday celebration for 10 people we had reservations but the host said they didn’t have it on their system and they refused to work with us. On the upside the food was great and after the initial experience we enjoyed our visit.

The food was just fine, but I can't say the same for the service. My friends and I came on a pretty busy evening, so it was not completely unexpected that they'd be out of some items. However, they were out of THREE dishes that we ordered and the waitress did not come and inform us of this until 10 minutes after we ordered each time. BOGO sushi is always a plus and the food that we did receive was good, but I am disappointed. They did not even offer anything to compensate for the lack of service. View menu

Kind of expected more from what I had read in the reviews. At best this place is ok, not great as some folks had said it was. The location is easy to get to and parking was easy to find. Not crowded at all with plenty of room but that's where it ends. The food was ok, typical sushi, etc. Pricey but we happened to be there when they were offering buy one get one free. The interior of Sushi One was plain, nothing special, actually kind of drab. I can at least say I've been and most likely will not be going back.

My wife and I went for New Years' Eve. Very good sushi, prices are more than fair. Since we ordered a lot of different things, it took approx. 20 minutes for our server to bring out the order, which was presented on a traditional wooden sushi boat. We also ordered a couple of appetizers, including a tempura assortment. The tempura was properly done, really good, and not really oily. The sushi itself (nigiri and make rolls) was very good! The service was very attentive, the hot tea was good (we rarely drink alcohol), and so we concluded that we have found a new Japanese place to go to!
