"I have a reverse commute from the city to Des Plaines. There's not much in this area besides chains so I was really happy when my friend introduced me to Thai Square. They have great deals on their lunch specials. I've had their pad thai, mixed vegetables, basil chicken, pad see ew, tom yum soup, and fried rice. Everything always has great flavor and is fresh. The lunch special comes with crispy egg rolls and half of an orange. I recommend asking for their complimentary hot sauce if you like some additional heat. They're also very sweet when you pick up your order. This is such a great little gem."

Their soup is incredible. I like all of it, but their wonton soup is the best I've ever had.

Consistently the best pineapple vegetable fried rice I've ever had. Lots of veggies. Not too greasy. Good portions.

The food was so bland and had 0 taste. I'm considering taking a covid test to make sure I haven't lost my sense of taste.

The service is quick and the pad thai is excellent. I really enjoy the lunch specials. The owners are very friendly. Don’t forget to tip your local servers! View menu

So disappointed. We hadn't tried the new take out location since the restaurant closed. The food is nothing like it was. The pad Thai was mushy noodles and a few bean sprouts no other veggie 5 shrimp thrown on top. Egg rolls with little in them. Eggplant Thai was okay but not spicy as requested. Pleasant service but won't be back.

All the food we ordered was incredible! I highly recommend this restaurant. We started with the spring rolls, which were perfect. The Pad Thai with shrimp was outstanding, and the beef Pad See Ew was delicious. The green curry with chicken was also fantastic. The portion sizes were generous. Let's support this place and keep it in Des Plaines!

As a first-time visitor, I found the egg rolls to be quite good. However, the Mongolian Beef was lacking in flavor and felt rather bland. It was not what I would expect from Mongolian Beef, and the portion was more suited for a lunch serving rather than a full order. At $22 plus tip, I thought it was overpriced for what I received. Overall, I'm unlikely to return after this experience. View menu

The food is generally good. $7.95 lunch specials and a relatively efficient jaunt down Oakton make this a dependable lunch option for me, closer and slightly cheaper than my other favorite. My preferred entrees are pad thai and ginger. Spicy basil is okay, but the ground chicken is not the greatest. In general, the vegetables seem to be pretty fresh in all of the dishes, which counts for a lot in my book. They include a few pieces of fresh fruit in the lunch special; that's a nice touch. Also, the portions are modest--you get enough but not too much.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent and the customer service was outstanding. I visited last Friday to pick up a takeout order, but I realized I had forgotten my debit card at home. Although they accepted Apple Pay, it wasn’t working on my phone for some reason. The owner, however, reassured me and said, “Don’t worry, just pay me next time you’re here!” How often do you encounter that kind of kindness? I'll definitely be returning next week to settle my tab and try another dish. The spicy basil chicken is absolutely delicious!

"I made reservations for this restaurant about a week and a half ago prior to my boyfriend’s birthday. My only special request was that I get a surprise dessert for his birthday. Upon walking into the establishment, the host ruined the birthday surprise by saying happy birthday…But that was fine. We went, sat down and ordered our food. The food was great, however, our waiter (TAYLOR) was not very attentive to my reservation. After we ate, we sat and waited for about minutes before the waiter decided to Ask if we wanted a dessert menu, when I requested a surprise. I was already upset at that point, because sitting there, I saw very nice desserts beautifully garnished coming out for other birthday recipients around us. When the waiter came back out to ask what dessert we wanted, I told him he basically ruined the desert surprise. He apologized and went to get a slice of pie with three candles on a separate plate (why couldn’t we get the style of desert we were seeing other patrons receiving I cried at the table. The waiter came back accompanied with another waiter. He then proceeded to to sing the STEVIE WONDER VERSION OF HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOLO TO MY BOYFRIEND (yes, we are BLACK). I find that very offensive, seeing as how the Caucasian waiter followed up by saying “I don’t know that version”… My boyfriend called the waiter up jokingly after seeing about waiters sing happy birthday to another patron… so the waiter goes back to get a group of waiters to sing a better version of happy birthday… ONLY FOR THEM TO NOT KNOW HIS NAME! THE AWKWARD SILENCE WAS VERY DISTURBING!!! We left very offended."
