"The bartender had difficulty with simple cocktails, struggling to create a proper tequila sunset and a decent Paloma. On the positive side, the food was outstanding; I particularly loved the nachos, which were definitely the highlight of my visit. I found the staff's hours to be quite confusing. I went in around 11:45 PM on one occasion and was told they were closing, even though their posted hours on Facebook and Google stated they would be open until 2 AM. Another time, I arrived just after midnight only to find the doors locked. I did enjoy the restaurant's style and decor, which aimed for a fancy British/old-school library vibe, complete with books and games. However, the pretentious attitude of some patrons really diminished the experience for me. During my visit, there was hardly anywhere to sit, either inside or outside. Overall, this was my first and last time visiting."

Excellent service, always greeted with a smile. The food is really good, music is good, ambiance is relaxed, drinks are good too and at great prices.

It's a wonderful spot. I loved the music, which set a lovely ambiance, yet my friends and I could still chat comfortably without needing to speak loudly. Our server, Vanessa, was both friendly and attentive.

This place has potential to be the best bar in downtown Brownsville. Invest in mixology ingredients and you will have it hands down. Great service but server was not too versed in product knowledge and availability.

I gave this place 3 stars based on location. I was misled with “Rioja” in the name and expected them to actually have Rioja served here but no, they don’t. Inside the place had a good atmosphere, but outside was more comfortable for me. Disappointed the didn’t have Rioja or any good wines I ordered water. The staff and servers were kind and attentive. I recommend this place for beers and cocktails, great location and service. View menu

I absolutely adore this charming little bar! Our bartender was friendly and attentive, and the drinks were spot on. The live music was amazing too; a local band was covering another well-known local group that no longer performs. That night, the Waem Oranges played covers of songs by The Connectors. I've never had a bad experience at this bar. The location is ideal, and the interior is warm and cozy, creating a inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying time with friends while having fun.

The Library is one of my go-to spots for relaxation in downtown! It has a laid-back atmosphere with jukebox music, live bands, or a DJ on weekends. The beer is always served ice-cold, and their chili powder for the rim is incredible—just thinking about it makes my mouth water! The Library also features a full bar and has amazing food and dessert options. You absolutely have to try the jalapeño poppers! If you're in Brownsville, be sure to check it out and support our historic downtown bars and restaurants.
