"If you love great tasting Chinese food and want a phenomenal eating environment... MOVE TO SAN FRANCISCO! But since we're in Chico, this place has great Chinese food and not so much the dine-in atmosphere. Seriously fantastic food, the owner Joe is genuine Chinese chef, and you get a slight attitude for free! I've read alot of reviews on this place for it's off-putting environment and the attitude from the owner... all true. But if you give Joe a chance, he's actually a really nice guy working his butt off to cook amazing Chinese dishes. The pot stickers are hands down the best. I enjoy the Kung poa chicken (the chicken is so tender and the sauce so delicious it tastes like heaven), and the broccoli beef is unbelievable. The black bean fat noodles chicken is really fantastic as well. Give the guy a chance, make a friend and ignore the clutter... this place is best for take-out. Do an order in-person, meet Joe and go buy some beer at Safeway next door while your food is being prepared."

Let me tell you a little about this place. I've been eating this guy's food for the past 8 years. I've had to follow him to a few different locations in Chico. His restaurants are very hole in the wall style. The owner is not your typical friendly bubbly personality type. He is to the point in conversation but don't misinterpret that for rudeness, as he's rather delightful once you account for differences in cultural norms. His restaurants are messy, but never dirty. I've been in the kitchen and its always clean. His food is why I've been coming here for 8 years. It's not your typical Chinese takeout. It's more authentic than westernized and that may account for some negative reviews as it's... View menu

"I recently dined at Celestino's NY Pizza with my girlfriend for dinner on May 28, 2023, and unfortunately, our experience with the spaghetti and meatballs left much to be desired. Both of us ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, and I must say I was quite disappointed with the dish. The presentation was underwhelming, as the meal was served in a disposable container. The lackluster appearance of the dish seemed to match the overall quality of the meal itself. The spaghetti with meatballs failed to meet my expectations. The flavors were mediocre, and the dish lacked the depth and richness that one would hope for in a classic Italian pasta. I found the meatballs to be bland, and the spaghetti itself was lacking the desired flavor. I do regret not ordering their renowned pizza, as it seems to be their specialty and what they are known for. Perhaps opting for their pizza would have resulted in a more satisfying meal. It is worth noting that the disappointment with the spaghetti does not necessarily reflect the quality of their pizza offerings, which may be worth exploring. The service at Celestino's NY Pizza was average. The staff was polite, but there was nothing particularly exceptional or memorable about the service experience. In conclusion, my dining experience at Celestino's NY Pizza left me wanting for more. The spaghetti with meatballs fell short in terms of flavor, texture, and presentation. I do regret not trying their pizza, as it is their reputed specialty. If you choose to dine at Celestino's NY Pizza, I would recommend exploring their pizza offerings rather than opting for their spaghetti."

"The food is five stars, and I'll probably eat again here. I have to order differently, because the cook and the waiting staff do not meet. I've eaten several times here. Every time there was a togo folder. The food here was excellent every time. I like the way they do their lemon chicken. Lemon Huhn may be my favorite Chinese dish. So I was excited to find a place that did it well and did it as I liked it. The last couple of times I asked for no onions in my chow, the vegetable dish or wherever it could be taken out. I also asked about him with the personal combos (I asked for no onions). There was never a problem, regardless of the fact that it was a duck or personal combo to get it without onions (I also don't like peas in fried rice, I don't like peas at all, they are just green ****). Today both the server and the boss refused to let onions from the chow and fried rice. They said they couldn't do it with the personal combo. I didn't want onions. To let them out something that would be easier unless they do not reorder every order. They have probably suggested the portions for the personal combo with the onions already in the mix, and then throw each order on the wok, and maybe they can't take off the onions. Or whatever. Find a way to get the onions out. Not everyone likes onions. Or some people could be allergic to them. I have a cheeseburger somewhere, and now I have to find a new Chinese restaurant."
