"eating is delicious, and the waitress was pretty good. the experience was ruined for me by the manager who came out to discuss the bill and was in my opinion rude and humiliating. to explain, we had ordered the fajitas for 2, which is $38. when we ran out of flour-trötillas, I asked the waitress if we could have a little more, and she immediately brought more. she said nothing about loading us for the extra tortillas, so when I saw an additional fee on the bill, I asked them about it, and explained that I have been in otb many paintings to others and never been so accused. she explained that she was to be calculated for her, but that she would ask her manager to take it off, and went with the bill. the manager then came to our table, sat down from me and asked what the problem was by using what I considered as confrontational ton and wise. when I tried to explain, he repeated himself again and again, what is the problem? I'm an adult. to be clear, I didn't raise my vote, but I tried to make the point firm that I didn't think I should be charged extra if other otbs didn't do that, and the waitress didn't tell me that I would be charged extra before the bill came. I felt humiliated by his actions before my family. I'm going to otb because it's one of my favorite restaurants, but probably not this one again. in fairness, they finally removed the additional fee and even gave us another discount for the inconvenience but I still remained unhappy."

"On the Border is a chain tex-mex restaurant that highlights the bar but has a good restaurant with decent food selections. The place is large with lots of seating. The staff is good. And the prices are reasonable for the large portions on the dishes. I used to go to On the Border about 25 years ago, but it was very popular and the quality of the experience, the wait and the over-worked staff caused the value go down. In the past year, since covid has abated, I returned. Surprisingly, I think the quality of the staff has improved, the best dishes are still here and prices have stayed reasonable. My go-to dish here is the Ranchiladas, which is a combo of a 9 oz mesquite steak (their fajita meat) and two cheese filled enchiladas. I love that spicy sauce it comes with. The other signature dish is there fajitas which I think is one of the biggest and best cooked of all restaurants. Their sides are decent too. The chips and salsa are strong with a nice zesty spiced up salsa. The monster chips are fun too. While I am not crazy about their rice and beans, the one really well-crafted item they have, as well, is the hand made tortillas, which I love. The staff we have regularly here are great. Today we had a lady named Terry who did an exceptional job of being helpful, efficient and very kind. After a long, tiring day of work (for both my wife and I) and having to eat late at 8:30pm, it was so nice to have such a positive person host and serve us this evening. I would have rated the restaurant a 3 star, but staff here is always so good that pushed it to 4 stars."
