"This is the easiest 5-star rating I've given in a while. Falansai is an outstanding modern Vietnamese/Southeast Asian restaurant that truly expands the definition of Vietnamese cuisine, in the best way possible. For the full experience, gather a group and order the “dac biet” feast. It's an incredible deal at around $80 per person for 5-6 courses, and it delivers an impressive tasting menu. Some standout dishes included a perfectly balanced spicy coconut curry paired with flawlessly fried black bass, as well as a grilled Vietnamese pork chop that was truly life-changing. The spring roll vermicelli salad was excellent, too. Each dish was elevated by the fantastic chili fish sauces and pickles that kept coming. Falansai also has a solid selection of natural wines, and my only regret is that I didn't get a chance to try the cocktails, which looked enticing. The cool patio in the back is perfect for warm summer nights."

This is definitely my favorite dinner spot in Brooklyn. It has a really relaxed atmosphere during the day, but the bar can get quite busy on weekend nights. View menu

The decor was fresh and airy, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress was like a ray of sunshine—attentive without being intrusive. I was there for lunch with a friend and my 4-month-old baby.

Everything was excellent. We were surprised that the vegetarian versions of the dumplings and curry were among the best parts of the meal. Egg rolls and tuna were incredible as well. Great value too.

Food is amazing. I dream about the Nam Dua (mushrooms, greens, noodles). The mackarel spicy green curry is a close second. And if you like duck, the duck neck is so succulent and innovative as a dish. Last dish below is the beef skewers The only downside is they were out of everything when we were there the black bass, the orange wine we wanted a second glass of, the hemp kombucha and one other item. It was pretty awkward View menu

This is one of the better restaurants in NYC that I've visited recently. It offers an intriguing Vietnamese fusion cuisine with clean, distinct flavors and excellent service. My favorite dishes included the tuna rice cracker and duck necks from the small plates, while the mackerel curry and pork with rice and egg were absolutely divine among the larger dishes. They also have a fantastic wine selection, and the decor is really stylish. Overall, it's definitely one of the standout spots in Bushwick right now.

Fantastic flavors, delightful ambiance, and exceptional service! I really enjoyed the bold flavors of the dishes, but they might taste even better when paired with a drink. I ordered from the à la carte menu. The green curry was incredibly flavorful, and I loved how it evoked the essence of a lotus pond in its presentation. The included rice was perfectly cooked—why is that such a challenge for many so-called good restaurants? I also ordered refreshing pickles on the side. The lamb skewers were superb! The confit duck necks were exceptionally flavorful and the meat was wonderfully tender, just as advertised! However, I think a bit more acidity or a complementary alcoholic drink would enhance...

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
